Goesting betekent zoiets als lust, trek, smaak of zin. In Nederland wordt het niet zoveel gebruikt, maar het staat wel gewoon in het woordenboek

De verkiezing van het mooiste Nederlandse woord door Vlamingen is een vervolg op vergelijkbare wedstrijden in Nederland, Duitsland en Groot-Brittannië. In Nederland werd "liefde" als mooiste woord gekozen, in Duitsland "Habseligkeiten" (hebbedingetjes) en de Engelsen tenslotte vonden "mother" (moeder) het mooiste woord.
