3/24/2005- EELS with strings:
Having heard inside talk about Mr. E having "had it with the road," we here at the EELStheband.com offices were not holding out much hope for a 2005 EELS tour. Mr. E has surprised us all with the following announcement:
EELS with strings:
Thursday: From the steps of the Universal Music World Headquarters in Santa Monica, California, EELS leader Mark Oliver Everett, aka E, announces 2005 tour:

"The past few EELS tours had taken a physical and emotional toll on me. I decided it was time to stop. But then one night I was in the backyard smoking a cigar with Bobby, Jr. and I was thinking about how we've been pummeling the audiences with variations on a distorted, rocking theme for the past few tours and wouldn't it be nice to do something really different? I found myself getting creatively excited about the idea. I couldn't stop myself from calling the office and having my team of experts assist me in making this idea a reality. So here we come again. If you're looking for rock -- turn back. You've come to the wrong place. This is a whole other thing."



In Nederland komen ze in Groningen, Rotterdam & Utrecht.
Wie gaat er naar toe?

terwijl ze eerder bijna de helft vroegen ofzo, veel minder iig

zit nog te twijfelen

Ja maar eerder moest er niet een compleet orkest van betaald worden en waren er waarschijnlijk meer plaatsen :rolleyes:

Een orkest hoeft niet veel te kosten en t hoeft heus geen professioneel orkest te zijn. En om een beetje leuke muzikale ondersteuning te krijgen zijn ook niet zo veel strijkinstrumenten nodig.
Het blijft gewoon veel geld en dat ben ik niet van ze gewend.

ik vind t dus best meevallen met veel geld. Zo gek vind ik het niet dat je meer betaalt voor een optreden van een band dan voor een cd van een band...

En nou wil ik niet de discussie over de prijzen van cd's aangaan, want die vind ik dus wél echt belachelijk duur

ja maar toch is 30 euro behoorlijk veel hoor
alleen voor radiohead heb ik zoiets over

30 euro vind ik denk ik toch iets te veel van het goede (n)

oeh. dat wil ik wel zien. maar duur :( nog even over nadenken dus.

Ik hoorde net die nieuwe single, en die is best goed (y)

Eels.. Ik vind het nogal potten en pannen muziek
