9.55 a.m. Staggered downstairs after a horrible night. God, mum and dad had fight all night. After all, mum and dad were a couple again and Julio leaves with another wife. Dad beamed all morning. I was glad for him, but I wouldn’t think of my own boyfriend-problem. ‘Oh, hello, darling,’ said dad, noticing me. ‘Now, what are you going to put on for Christmas Day?’
‘This,’ I muttered sulkily.
‘Oh, don’t be silly, Bridget, you can’t wear that on Christmas Day.’
Nice, your own mother doesn’t like your snowflake-dress. Hmmmf, feel v. sad without boyfriend. Maybe must call Mark, ask for some company on this sad morning.
1.45 p.m. I mustn’t feel low said mum to me. I can’t believe she said that! Gosh, she is so in heaven again with dad that she completely forgets my problems with Mark Darcy.
I hate her, I hate dad, I hate Mark Darcy (that bastard), I hate Daniel Cleaver (No, I don’t miss him at all), and most of all I hate myself.
2.30 p.m. Still hate myself (should get a how-do-I-love-myself-again-course).
2.45 p.m. Jiiiehaa! I love the postmen (or actual Dan)! Just get a card from him (you know, the guy who lives below me). He invited me to have dinner at 9 o’clock. Yess! Must get ready now. What should I wear? O No, I forgot, I already have a bad hair day since Thursday!
Okay Bridget, Slow down. All right, I know, Dan also has v. many spots in his face.
And he can’t even hide them with a cover stick. Ha! So I would look better on our date.
7.00 p.m. I’m sitting quite nervous next to mum and dad, (Still beaming), and check my hairdo for the 15th time. (Doh, I want to look good on a date with someone else than Mark or Daniel!)
7.05 p.m. It’s time to leave. Hope I will have a great diner (including sweet kisses from Dan), and that finally I have found the right guy to live with.
I’m the most happy, beautiful and loveable woman in the whole world!
