The nightmare before christmas festival by the Mars Volta
 

Ik hoorde het gister toen ik bij een vriend in zijn platenzaak kwam. Cedric en Omar organiseren een festival op 2/3/4 December. En niet zo maar een. Voor 130 quid zit je drie dagen in een vakantie parkje (ala centerparcs). met tv en alles. Radio en tv programmering door Cedric en Omar zelf. Zo willen ze een inzicht geven in hun leven, en wat hen gemaakt heeft.

En dan nog het festival; bands van jaga jazzist tot saul williams, van mastodon tot the kills, van hella tot blonde redhead tot high on fire tot the locust tot dalek, en als dat nog niet genoeg is ook nog eens een stones throw avond, met madvillian, madlib, peanut butter wolf, en J-ROCC<3

Barretjes met lekker eten en drinken, en dj's die de hele nacht draaien, allemaal georganiseerd door Cedric en Omar.

The next Nightmare Before Christmas event is to be held at Camber Sands Holiday Camp on 2, 3 and 4 December 2005 and will be curated by The Mars Volta. Tickets for the event will go on sale on Friday 3 June.

Cedric Bixler of the Mars Volta said "We are honored and grateful to be given the chance to assemble a private mix tape and have it come to life. We are thrilled for the opportunity to play with some of our favorite bands, and hope you find our line up to be both intriguing and diverse."

The band has also chosen the following artists from their own GSL label:
The Locust,
Year Future,
400 Blows,
Subtitle,
Kill Me Tomorrow.

Another 11 artists will be confirmed over the next couple of weeks.

Tickets are priced at £120, including a 3-day festival pass and 3 nights accommodation. Ticket includes performances starting from mid-afternoon with bars and DJ sets through till dawn, plus three nights in a self-catering chalet accommodation all with private bathroom suites. Onsite facilities include an indoor swimming pool, mini-golf, go-karting, restaurants & fast food outlets as well as a supermarket and off-license.

Camber Sands is approximately 60 miles from London, or around an hour and half drive. Alternatively, a train into Rye Village and then a short bus journey can reach the site.

Tickets for the All Tomorrow’s Parties Nightmare Before Christmas can be purchased directly through www.atpfestival.com and are available in blocks of 4,5,6,7 or 8 due to the specifications of the accommodation. tja, voor 120 pond kan je best wat bier halen en jezelf de wereld afzuipen met TMV in de platenspeler en daarna je eigen mixtape op de achtergrond. Een loeder die dan nog zeurt over gebrek aan live muziek, je bent immers toch kapot aan het gaan (Y).

Ik zal het nooit meer vergeten. Joe Preston zet z'n amps aan(een model T en een Ampeg SVT met een batterij cabs) en begint te spelen. Ergste bassound die ik ooit heb gehoord.......

Alsof er een duivelse machine aan kwam walsen. Later vielen die drummer met z'n bigass toms en heerser pur sang Matt Pike bij.

Ik heb ze een paar maanden geleden in de Goudvishal gezien. Was een leuke show (y)

Jammer dat ik nooit geld heb.

Wat een sukkels dat ze het net voor de feestdagen doen, dus geen rekening houden met de horeca mensen.

Anders was ik er wel heen gegaan :)
