[engels] beschouwing
 

morgen heb ik mn toets beschouwing schrijven voor Engels, over de onderwerpen: CIA Flights of nuclear power. Titels krijgen we bij het proefwerk, 2 per onderwerp, en dan schrijven.
Ik heb alvast geprobeerd een tekst over dat laatste onderwerp te schrijven. Let niet op de inhoud:P , maar op de spelling en de stijl.

The debate about nuclear energy is in progress in the Netherlands. The occasion is the nuclear power station ‘Borselle’. This nuclear power station is the only one in the Netherlands. The Dutch government decided to close it in 2033, instead of 2013. Many people think this is wrong because of the negative points nuclear energy has. Other people say the Dutch governments did a right thing and there should be more nuclear power stations in Holland. What is the best option in this case?

Nuclear installations have a sad record of accidents and incidents. For example: the Russian nuclear power station ‘Tsjernobyl’, which exploded in 1986. Thousands of people died and millions of people are still having problems with their health due to the radiance. When a nuclear power station explodes the consequences are horrible. You do not want to think about that.
Another thing about nuclear power: it is dirty. After using the energy the stations will leave thousands of nuclear waste. The governments have no idea where they should leave this. The waste will remain a threat for years. When we build more nuclear power stations, there will be more dangerous material to deal with.
It is clean. This is a huge benefit about nuclear energy. Of all energy sources, nuclear energy has perhaps the lowest impact on the environment. The CO2 expel is low. This means the impact on the environment will be better for the Netherlands when they should use more nuclear energy.

All in all, nuclear energy is a difficult topic. On one side it is clean, because of low CO2 expel. On the other side it is one of the most dangerous materials in the world and the governments have no idea where to leave the waste. I think the governments should leave the situation as it is: held ‘Borselle’ open till 2033 and then no more nuclear power in the Netherlands!

Hm, beetje laat inmiddels, maar misschien heb je er nog iets aan. :o

1. Als iets in het verleden plaats heeft gevonden, maar je weet niet precies wanneer, dan gebruik je de present perfect: have + ww. Het wordt dus: "the government has decided" (maar: "In 1997, the government decided...")
2. Nederland heeft natuurlijk maar één regering, en dus is het "government" en niet "governments".
3. "To expel" betekent zoveel als "uitdrijven, dwingen om weg te gaan", hier moet je "exhaust" gebruiken. Typisch gevalletje "opgezocht in het woordenboek" :p
4. Een "impact" kan natuurlijk niet beter worden (nou ja, of je moet het slecht voorhebben met het milieu ofzo?), die wordt hoger of lager. ;)
5. "To think" betekent letterlijk "denken", en je kunt het beter niet gebruiken als je een mening geeft; dan is "to feel" veel beter.
6. "Held" is de verleden tijd van "to hold"; ten eerste moet je daar geen verleden tijd gebruiken en tweede is "to hold" daar niet toepasselijk. Open houden = "to keep open". Iets te letterlijk vertaald dus ;)
7. Vermijd spreektaal als "'till" (vermijd spreektaal sowieso als je iets schrijft, zeker als het voor een cijfer is ;)). Officieel is het gewoon "until".

Verder best aardig, probeer iets langere zinnen te maken d.m.v. komma's/puntkomma's.

Het woord 'think' is inmiddels ook in haar betekenis gangbaar.

Ok dus ik moet steeds

Als je het alleen over Nederland hebt wel, ja. Ik zie dat ik dat over het hoofd heb gezien :o

ik heb uiteindelijk een betoog tegen kernenergie geschreven maar kon dit dus ongeveer overnemen:p
