Al even bekend maar ik denk ik post het nog even.

"Though the decision to break up was a hard one to take, we feel like there is no better time to do it than now. We have accomplished everything we wanted to achieve with this band and then some. Rather than fizzling out like a candle we would like to go out with a bang, now that we are still fully enjoying what we do and before petty bullshit ruins what we have built throughout the last 4 years. We feel that with "Live For Nothing" we have written the best record we were capable of and have said everything we wanted to say with DEAD STOP. We've been all over Europe , from England to Greece and from Norway to Spain . We've toured the US twice. We got the chance to play our beloved Lintfabriek countless times and got to share the stage with a lot of the bands we greatly respect. We are grateful for all the support we've gotten and all the craziness and hardcore enthusiasts that followed us nearly anywhere we went but it is time for something new. New challenges and new bands.

We started this band to pay tribute to the early 80's hardcore pioneers we all loved and most kids seemed to have forgotten about. At the same time we were sick of seeing lame bands playing watered down hardcore to bored crowds. With a lot of hard work we managed to gain monumentum rather quickly and soon played shows of which we could only have dreamed of playing before, plus we think we managed to open a lot of people's eyes to the truly important and often overlooked early 80's hardcore bands that inspired us and brought us together in the first place. We are proud of everything we have achieved and how we achieved it.

Thank you all for your support and we hope to see you all on the 20th of May and/or at the other shows we'll be playing before we say goodbye."

DEAD STOP will be playing a whole bunch of shows all over Europe before breaking up for good so don't miss out your last chances to see one of today's best hardcore bands. As for what the 4 band members will be doing now that the band is breaking up, here's a few scoops: Michiel is still trying to get a line up together for his Venice Beach/Suicidal project called REPO MEN and has plenty of ideas for new bands. Gert drums in LOUD AND CLEAR, another high profile project with members of Justice and True Colors. Look out for their debut LP later this year and a sporadic show once in a while. Lino will continue running Ghent 's finest restaurant 't Keizershof and may or may not form a new band with members of Soulwax. Coorde is working on a late 80's DC styled band in the vein of Embrace, while other rumours suggest he'll be joining Violent Minds on bass. So let's wait and see, shall we?

Jammer maar helaas, laatste platen waren erg goed. Hoop ze binnenkort nog eens ergens live te mogen aanschouwen. Ik waardeer (y).

Was natuurlijk al geruime tijd bekend. Zonde, erg zonde. Ben heel benieuwd wat hier nu uit voort gaat komen.
Zeker een poging wagen die afscheidsshow in de lintfabriek te aanschouwen.

Ach, wat jammer nou.

Jammer, maar ik denk een heel erg goed idee. Stoppen op het hoogtepunt. Ik ben fan van t concept.

Het is als die aflevering van Seinfeld waar George een grap maakt en Kramer, Jerry en Elaine lachen. George trekt z'n jas aan en gaat weg, omdat het alleen maar bergafwaarts kan gaan na z'n geslaagde grap.

Enfin. Megaveel gave shows gezien. Dead Stop in de Lintfabriek....ik ga nat :)

Ik denk dat ik inderdaad ook maar eens ga kijken of ik die Lintfabriek show kan bijwonen, zal wel een spektakel worden.

Zeg David Kankerherrie, ik vond net een ouwe post waarin ik zei dat het een feit is dat GCF een kutband is en het ging over oldschool hardcore die niet dood is. Daarop zei jij:

deadstop was hier het onderwerp en dat we allemaal verdrietig zijn omdat ze stoppen ofzo.

Verdrietig zijn is niet hardcore nu. Die fase is net achter de rug.

Er worden zelfs openhartig beschamende cd collecties besproken.

Mijn cd collectie is ook niet voor de wind.

Oh misschien wil mandy ook wel, die is ook niet zo groot dan hebben de mensen op de achterbank iig de ruimte.

Het Pronkstuk in mijn vinylcollectie is een LP van een of andere bebaarde vent die Russische volksliederen in het Duits zingt. Gekregen bij een show van Wipneus en Pim.

Ik zal wel weer naar die show moeten rijden met mijn bandmakkers.

mijn pronkstuk is een 7" van corry vink ofzo? en die zingt van 'ja angela het is je verjaaardaaag je bent nu jaaarig' ofzo. vet tof.

Hop Gerlo er ook nog bij, check maar even op Mandy ook wil dan kijk ik of Mark (tiq) nog mee wil.

Dat heb ik niet zo goed gehoord aangezien DEP speelde denk ik. Plus dat je ze gemakkelijk over het hoofd ziet natuurlijk.
