kan iemand mijn engels brief controleren?
het gaat niet zo zeer of het inhoudelijk klopt, maar meer om de spelling en grammatica en de aanhef enzo

Dear Sir or madam,

We have received your letter about the visit of the 4th class of Alexander College to our school during the 7th of May to the 15th of May to our school. We’d like to tell you that we are looking forward to the visit of Alexander College.

The director of our school was very excited about the whole idea since we haven’t had any exchange programs for a few years. Our class is also looking forward to your visit as well since we are an outgoing class and like to meet new people.

I’m in class 5HD, the class that will welcome the visitors and give them a tour through our school. We would also like to know if anything else is needed so we could prepare it beforehand.

We would like to have the student from Alexander College attend a full day at our school. The students could attend class with us and we will also be given the free time to spend and communicate with the students of Alexander College. We could pair up the students from both our school and let them spend a certain time with each other after school. But this is still just a suggestion; if you have any ideas from your side we’d like to know it.

We would appreciate it if you bring along some information about your school with you. A list of photos and names of the students of Alexander College would be a great help. And also we would like to be informed how many teachers are coming along beforehand. It would also be nice if we let the students exchange emails so they can get to know each other first. If we agree on planning to let us pair up the students for after school activities, we would like to be informed if any students of the Alexander College have certain diets, so we can inform our students about it to prevent any kind of commotion.

Oeh yes, mijn favo vak...Heb van de week een toets hierover gehad, dus ik weet het meeste denk k wel. Ten eerste moet de datum tussen de 2 adressen staan
-na March 30th moet een komma, dan pas 2006
- Het staat mooier vind ik om dit te zeggen: Dear Sir/Madam. K weet niet of dat ook goed is
-Je mag geen afkortingen gebruiken in een formele brief dus: We'd= we would
haven't= have not

- Die eerste zin is best vaag, snap t niet echt in verhouding met de brief. Wat is de nederlandse zin?

En "the" kan je beter weglaten

-Moet meervoud zijn.

-Dat "bring along" is niet echt netjes voor in een formele brief. Beter is denk ik "...if you could bring some information....enz"

And also we would like to be informed how many teachers are coming along beforehand.

-Zelfde voor dit. "...are coming with you.." of gewoon along weglaten.

-Moet dit niet zijn "if WE agree..."??


En het is aN outgoing class. Het woord na a(n) begint namelijk met een klinker. Dan is het altijd aN. (Behalve bij de uitzonderingen)


En dat "beforehand" stoort mij enorm. Heeft iemand hier iets anders voor? Ik vind het een rotwoord.
