The film will in a way be the penultimate Gondry production: all of the ideas and techniques we've seen in Gondry's canon will collide in what is a 100% Gondry film. Partizan and Gaumont are producing. The film is part French and part English, filmed entirely in France (mainly in Paris in a house where Michel lived 15 years ago), and scripted by Michel.

Michel revealed some of the plot in early 2004, this time in the New York Times: "It's about conquering your dreams," he said of the story, in which the hero "can't wake up any more because the people in the dream don't want him to leave the dream, and they hold him as a hostage. There's a guy who commits murder in his dream but with an electric shaver. An electric shaver becomes huge and shaves everything in sight." Gaumont.com, May 2005: "It's (about) a guy trying to take control of his dreams, because his life is slipping away. In fact, he ends up controlled by them. In the meantime, he has a relationship with his neighbor, but it doesn't work out because he's too distracted by his dreams."

Oh jee, een hele film in brak engels

Ik vind gael garcia bernal wel goed, maar kan zo snel geen film noemen waarin ik hem engels heb horen spreken. Maar ik heb wel vertrouwen in gondry en garcia.

In THE KING spreekt hij ook Engels. Prima overigens. Prachtige film ook.

Edit: Hm, na het zien van de trailer ben ik minder enthousiast. Die hoofdrolspeler vind ik een irritant hoofd hebben.

Ziet er vooraslnog dom uit. Ik hoop echt dat Eternal Sunshine geen eenmalige uitschieter was en dat Gondry zijn draai eindelijk gevonden heeft.

Ik heb dus goede hoop voor deze film (en de laatste replies in dit topic zijn ook positief). Ga m zeker wel kijken binnenkort.

Weet iemand die niet te lui was om het op te zoeken wanneer 'ie in de bioscoop te zien is?

Waarom ZEI ik dit eigenlijk? Want in Amores Perros was ie wel koel.

Hm, maar de trailer spreekt me niet echt aan, behalve dan de typische Gondry-visuals.

Hmm, weet iemand dan een tof filmhuis/arthouse bioscoop/whatever in Amsterdam? Ik ken alleen 't Griffioen, het Ketelhuis en Rialto, maar die draaien 'm allemaal niet.
