Cabaret Voltaire was a British music group from Sheffield, England. Cabaret Voltaire first worked on experimental electronic music, and sound in the early 1970s. However, they started to achieve critical success in the post-punk era, with industrial and techno. The group consisted of Stephen Mallinder, Richard H. Kirk and Chris Watson. Their earliest performances were dadaist-inspired performance art, but they soon moved on to creating punk-influenced experimental music.

ik heb de original sounds of sheffield maar na een tijdje begint het allemaal wel veel op elkaar te lijken maar hey

Uit het opzicht van de moderne Westerse kunst belangrijk, maar persoonlijk vin'k het niks.

Wat heb je geluisterd dan? Hun stijl is nogal veranderd.

De eerste demo's vind ikzelf ook niet zo bijster interessant. Maar de Extended Play 7'' (1978) en Nag Nag Nag 12'' (1979) zijn zeer goed te doen. The Crackdown, Micro-Phonies en The Voice of America zijn ook tamelijk hitsige plaatjes :)(y)

vooral bij 83/87 begint het na 5 nummers te irriteren, dezelfde electronische drums etc

Ik bedoelde eigenlijk Snees. Ik heb ook een livealbum en die valt ook best wel tegen ja. Live at the Hacienda.
