Engels summary/opinion

Ik heb een samenvatting en mening gemaakt over een artikel in de krant, zouden jullie er even naar willen kijken?

Summary
This is an article about a man who was totally confused at the evening of August the 15th. It’s about the 32-years-old man John Hogan. On the holliday this summer in Ierpetra, southern Crete he sprang with his six-years-old son Liam and his eight-years-old daughter Mia from a balcony. They plunged 50ft from the fourth-floor. The 50ft plunge killed Liam almost instantly, but his daughter Mia survived with only a broken arm. Hogan himself broke his arm and leg in the fall.
The reason why he has done this, is because he was overwhelmed by confusion. He was unable to bear the thought that he would live without his children. He was emotionally distressed. But he loves his children very much and they were the only people that gave any meaning to his live. His wife says that he had given so much of himself to his work and his family that there was nothing left for him. He just snapped.
John Hogan is currently under arrest on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, he has yet to be formally charged. He is expected to remain in custody until his trial in April next year.

Personal opinion
What can I say about this horrible incident? I just can’t imagine what someone inspire to sprung with your own children from a balcony. How confused can you be?
I know that he was very stressed but I think that his wife could prevent this. When you are 24-hours together you know the mentally condition of your partner I think. She must had told to her man and children that is was better to wait with the vacantion. Of course, at the back, this is easy saying but don’t you think that there was some tension before they moved to Crete?

And there is something strange I this article I think, something where I can’t imagine what the aim of John Hogan was. He sprung with his children from a balcony (50ft) and his son died instantly but he and his daughter have only a broken arm (and leg). Was it his aim to still alive now or would he died? But this is something we maybe never come to know.

Iig paar binnenkomertjes:

'Of course, at the back, this is easy saying but don’t you think that there...'

achteraf - at the back
makkelijk gezegd - easy saying
te weten komen - come to know

dat zijn wel erg extreme voorbeelden er van. Ga op zoek naar hoe dit soort dingen in het Engels worden gezegd, en ga het niet letterlijk vertalen want dit zijn werkelijk draken.
