Wat betekend dit?

Heeft iemand een idee waar dat gm voor staat?
Ik zelf dacht iets van gram en mol, maar cal/ gram per mol lijkt me een beetje vreemd. Hopelijk kan iemand me helpen.

Deze kwam ik net ook nog tegen: 1 calorie/gm °C

nou niet echt, natuurlijk kan je het opmaken uit de tekst, maar [gm] is niet de eenheid van gram. Gewoon [g] dus.

In het Engels niet hoor, daar is gm erg gangbaar, naast g.

Ik zie het nooit, en ik lees toch aardig wat Engelstalige teksten...

Bij het lezen van die tekst zou ik mij eerder afvragen hoe zij "the heat extracted by the evaporation of a gram of perspiration from the human skin at the normal boiling point" gemeten hebben.

Ja, dat is voor mij ook een raadsel.
