Alhoewel men hier zeer geinteresseerd is in steenkringen als stonehenge e.d., valt het mij op dat niemand meer weet over dergelijke gebouwen buiten Engeland. Dit is jammer want op mijn zeer toffe vakantie op Gozo, Malta, heb ik een evenzovele vage maar nog ouder vrijstaand gebouw genaamd Ggantija bezocht. Zo gesteld: het is het oudste nog vrijstaande gebouw op de wereld. Iemand interesse?

ja, ik wil wel weten hoe lang het bestaat, hoe het eruit ziet en of er paranormale verschijnselen zijn gesignaleert.

heeel oud: Just outside Xaghra, situated on the same plateau, stand the famous prehistorical temples of Ggantija. Scientific research has proved that these temples have been standing here for over 5000 years. They are more than 1000 years older than Stonehenge. Originally the temples had roofs, were plastered and painted. The precise purpose for which they were built is still a mystery, although they are believed to have been places of worship. The site consists of two separate temples: the South Temple (3600 BC) and the North Temple (3000 BC). The temples were excavated in 1826.
