Back in the late ’80s, Randy “The Ram” Robinson (Mickey Rourke) was a headlining professional wrestler. Now, twenty years later, he ekes out a living performing for handfuls of diehard wrestling fans in high school gyms and community centers around New Jersey. Estranged from his daughter (Evan Rachel Wood) and unable to sustain any real relationships, Randy lives for the thrill of the show and the adoration of his fans. However, a heart attack forces him into retirement. As his sense of identity starts to slip away, he begins to evaluate the state of his life ...

schijnt indrukwekkend filmpje te zijn.

Ja, die wil ik wel zien. Altijd leuk die Darren.

Nou precies.

Lijkt me een gave film, en niet alleen omdat ik worstelen gaaf vind. De trailer belooft veel goeds

Het lijkt me verschrikkelijk. Het schijnt qua cinematografie ook erg rechttoe rechtaan te zijn met een soortement van handheld docu-look. Het onderwerp is ook kut en de trailer al helemaal.

Nu ik die trailer zie heb ik er ook een stuk minder zin in. Het ziet er inderdaad vreselijk uit. :D Maarja, eerst maar eens zien.

Ik vind het allemaal behoorlijk sentimenteel en cliché aandoen.

Ach, ik ben er hoe dan ook, ik kan nauwelijks kritisch zijn wanneer het over Aronofsky gaat.
