My mind seeks for lies

My heart believes your words
My mind looks for their disguise

My heart remembers all you say
My mind forgets your pretty words

My heart wants to believe
My mind looks for proof

My heart wishes for you
My mind wishes for peace

My heart longs for your touch
My mind gets ready to move my feet

This battle wages on within me
Day after day

My heart wants you
My mind calls me every type of fool

For logically
I don't even know you.

But logic is a mind's language
My heart does not speak it

For it looks deeper inside
Then to what meets the mind's eye

And wishes for truth
Where sometimes there is none
