Dear Sandra,

How are you? I’m really sorry you haven’t heard from me for quite a while. I have to turn in a lot of assignments and files so I need time to do these. That is the reason you haven’t heard from me.

Luckily, everything is going fine with my family. With me and my school it is going fine to. Next year is my graduation. I really hope I pass otherwise I will commit suicide.

What do you think of the American election? I am so happy Barack Obama has won the election. I think he will bring change, not only to America but over the whole world.

In 3 months Christmas vacation will start. My vacation will begin the end of December and will end the beginning of January. When does your vacation start?

Would you like to come? I would love it. So we can celebrate Christmas and New Year’s together!

Ik heb je briefje globaal verbeterd zonder verder naar de inhoud ervan te kijken..
Of je een brief afluist met 'love' is een beetje een gevoelskwestie. Als je echt van haar houdt kun 'love' gebruiken maar ik heb a funny feeling dat dat niet het geval is.
Maar goed, succes!

Als je een iets algemenere afsluiting wilt dan kun je regard of kind regard gebruiken.
Ik zou ook school nog veranderen in schoolwork (my schoolwork is going fine), anders klinkt het alsof het goed gaat met de school(instelling/gebouw). Verder prima brief hoor.

PS:nachecken bestaat niet, het is nakijken of checken. (sorry voor het geneuzel, maar dit soort foutjes kom je zo vaak tegen...)

heb even snel wat dingetjes veranderd. weet niet of hij zo 100% foutloos is, en ik wilde de stijl niet te veel aanpassen, maar hopelijk heb je er wat aan!

iets als "i will commit suicide" is erg serieus, terwijl een opmerking als "i'll kill myself" wat meer spreektaal is. vergelijk:
"ik ga zelfmoord plegen" met "ik doe mezelf wat aan (als ik het niet haal)"
(ik hoop tenminste dat het een niet-serieus bedoelde uitdrukking is :s )

Moet er achter de postcode trouwens niet nog een plaatsnaam?

*I really hope I pass otherwise ... pass is overgaan naar het volgende schooljaar maar als je 'gratuade' dat sluit je je school af en kan je dus niet meer naar een volgende klas*
