Ik doe binnenkort een presentatie over hiphop in Engels en ik wil daar ff een paar meningen van anderen over hebben. Heb je voorkeur voor een bepaald accent? Gebruik je slang als je Engels praat zoals "I ain't done my homework"? Gebruik je Britse (wagwaan, innit, bruv) of Amerikaanse (aight, 'sup, bro) slang? Gebruik je veel scheldwoorden in je Engels? Vind je dat een hiphop accent toegelaten moet worden in het NL'se onderwijs? Laat me weten wat jullie denken :) Ohja, als je geen Britse rappers kent, hier zijn er een paar: Professor Green, Devlin, Dizzee Rascal en Plan B.

Nee, ik gebruik geen hiphopaccenten in mijn Engels. Ik vind dat in het Nederlandse onderwijs in de lessen Engels uitsluitend het Britse Engels gebruikt zou moeten worden. We leren toch ook geen Oostenrijks of Latino-Spaans op school? Succes met je presentatie!

Ik gebruik wel eens gekscherend rap-termen in mijn engels, maar niet in een school-situatie, ik vind dat dat ook buiten de klas gehouden moet worden. Bij Nederlands spreek je ook gewoon ABN, bij mij op school was dat tenminste zo.

Het engels cockneyaccent is heeeeeel storend vind ik persoonlijk. Eigenlijk is alle hiphop die ik luister amerikaans. Ik hou meer van relaxte rap zoals kid cudi en asher roth.

Mijn eigen engels blijft netjes. geen 'aint, yo bro' en 'gonna' etc. Wel schelden, maar netzoveel als in het nederlands toch.

Er zijn meer dan genoeg engelse rappers die geen cockney accent hebben :p

Ik probeerde zo Amerikaans mogelijk over te komen tijdens mijn overhoring en dat was ook aardig gelukt zei m'n leraar. Hiphop zou ik afraden tijdens een mondeling. Ik weet niet hoe het met jouw leraar zit, maar de mijne zou het niet waarderen. Persoonlijk vind ik de meeste accenten van Groot-Brittannië, ongeloofelijk storend/bekakt of gewoon lelijk klinken.

Ik wou net gaan vertellen dat de meeste rapper, of in ieder geval de wat populairdere, dat wel hebben. Of ze hebben een zwaar London's accent. Kun je wat voorbeelden geven van succesvolle rappers die een ander accent hebben?

Nl hiphop is sowieso de beste.

ik mag als enigste van de klas amerikaanse accenten/uitspraken gebruiken maar dat komt omdat ik daar 2 jaar heb gewoond, dus dan zit er dat gewoon ingeroest als het ware.
sommige klasgenoten vinden mij dan wel ns bekakt praten omdat ze daar de R heel duidelijk uitspreken en in engeland weer bijna niet:P
