A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce. The story goes about Stephen Dedalus and he lives in Ireland. His mother is a strictly religious woman. The uncle of Stephen lives also in the same house. When Stephen is olders he goes to a boarding school. Other children bullied Stephen a lot. Stevens parent are so poor that he can’t go to the boarding school any time longer. They move to Blackrock. In Blackrock goes Stephen to a new boarding school. But he has no friends and is a bit shy. After school Stephen visits hookers, this is a hobby of Stephen. During a sermon of the vicar about the hell, he decides to improve his life. Stephen is going to the university. Stephen develops his own ideas about how people think. And the end of the story he leaves Ireland. Stephen Dedalus: quiet, shy, own world. Emma Clere: Girlfriend Stephen. Charles: Uncle, walking, dies early. How is Stephen going to the university? He comes from a very poor family, so he had not enough money to pay his tuition. Why don’t we know something about Emma Clere (the girl who loves Stephen)? There is not much information about the girl who Stephen loved so much. Stephen is a quiet guy. In his spare time he goes to the hookers. And after a time he realized that it is not good what he is doing. Who helped him? Stephen smiled again in answer to the smile which he could not see on the priest’s shadowed face, its image or spectre only passing rapidly across his mind as the low discreet accent fell upon his ear. He gazed calmly before him at the waning sky, glad of the cool of the evening and of the faint yellow glow which hid the tiny flame kindling upon his cheek. |

Citaat:
Stephen is goes to the university.
is fout! Stephen goes to the university. is en goes kan niet samen :P |
How does Stephen going to the university? is ook fout
How does stephen go to the univeristy? or How is Stephen going to the university? het verschil is de tijd. |
Ik heb de 'does...going' over het hoofd gezien
