I wanna come with you but I can't
My shoes are too filled up with sand
I probably wouldn't even make it to the door
It would shut in my face and damage me even more

I wish that you could just lift me up
and put me high in the sky where I'd fly
But I've been down here for too long
My flowers are fading; the desert's too dry
So don't expect a tear
'cause sometimes I just don't care anymore
Sitting here with my feet like cement
staring at an open door

I wanna come with you but I can't
My shoes are too filled up with sand
I probably wouldn't even make it to the door
It would shut in my face and damage me even more

I know it must be pretty
the place you wanna take me to
But I'm afraid that there's no way
that I can escape from this zoo
Yet it's not all that bad in here
I made friends with a pandabear
Three cages on the left you'll see
another monkey just like me
