The darkness in between ...

there you are being just yourself
there you lie naked on the soil
no blanket to cover you up
no warmth near you to feel

people walking by as if normal
everything without any blur
so clear for you what to do
nothing in your way there

suddenly you find yourself confronted
you see a light in the distance
it's a feeling you'd rather ignore
but without notice it follows

everywhere you go it shines
you ignore it but grow annoyed
increasingly more as time passes by
until you notice it has vanished

you look aroud wondering, searching
where might it have gone to
as if you where so used to it
you grow weary in search of this light

you close your eyes and suddenly
suddenly you see, no feel it
no longer being aware as you where
but more aware then ever

but as you reach for a mirror
just to see if your feeling's right
you collapse just to find yourself on the soil
naked, between shard of broken mirror

empty, yet so full of something
no longer you but more, more then you
and as you see a reflection of yourself in a shard
you notice that you no longer glow

as if your light no longer shines
as if that was the price to pay
giving up the light that makes you
creates you being someone else then you

people walk by, no longer as if normal
they look at you with their eyes far open
does this mean you'd sacrifice yourself
just for people to simply notice you

... is the light in between.
