We have received numerous emails regarding the band "breaking up". Its just like 1994 / 1995 all over again! We would like to put an end to rumours that the band are splitting up, and / or are planning any solo albums. We realise there were some articles in various newspapers and magazines which cited Dolores as having said she was thinking about recording some solo work. The band have expressed their desire to change their approach to songwriting, and this could see them
writing separately, initially. Dolores has performed solo before (e.g. "God Be With You", "Pavorotti Charity Concert") and no doubt will in the future. She is going to start recording new material in January and the band hope to begin recording a new album by February. They are already in discussions with various producers.

The Shizit regrets to announce that the band is breaking up and will no longer be recording or performing in its current form. Due to irreconciliable differences, Brian and J.P. have decided to go their separate ways.

Ik had dit gelezen:

Eine Band, die den Zenith ihres Schaffens eindeutig schon längst überschritten hat, beschloß anscheinend kürzlich, die letzte Runde musikalischer Aktivitäten einzuläuten. Die Rede ist von den Cranberries. Frontfrau Dolores O´Riordan äußerte in einem Interview, dass sie sich nach Abschluß der Promotion für das im September erschienene Best Of-Album wohl zurückziehen wird und keine Chancen für neue Aufnahmen der Band sieht. Stattdessen will sie demnächst lieber auf Solopfaden und in Richtung World Music wandeln...

Five Pointe O regretfully announces that of Friday Dec. 6th Daniel and Sharon have decided to part ways with the band. Though this has been a tremendous blow to the remaining members (Eric, Casey, Tony and Sean), Five Pointe O has decided to continue on and, as difficult as it might be, plan to seek replacements for Daniel and Sharon. Five Pointe O apologizes to all the fans and asks for their support in this, the band's darkest hour. We promise to you all that Five Pointe O has just begun and we're not ready to give up yet. With your support we will overcome. Thank you.

dit is inderdaad erg nieuws, nu krijgen we 4-5-6 (met hoeveel zijn ze) afzonderlijke teringliedjes te horen...nou luister ik het toch al niet vaak, maar die klere radio wil nog wel eens aanstaan
