The A-Team
Release Date: Unknown; that will depend upon when it gets a greenlight to start filming Distributor: Fox 2000 (picked up out of turnaround from Universal) Production Companies: Top Cow Productions (comics publisher that's crossing over into movies) (Rising Stars: Born in Fire), The Cannell Company (Stephen J. Cannell, producer of the TV show, is also producing) Cast: None announced yet. Original Cast: Mr. T (Sgt. Bosco "B.A." Baracus), Dwight Schultz (Captain H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock), Dirk Benedict (Lt. Templeton "Face" Peck), George Peppard (1928-1994) (Col. John "Hannibal" Smith) Possible Cameos: Though the original cast members might not return to star, B.A., Face, and Murdock may appear as cameos. Cast Rumors: Among those rumored in the past few years to possibly star are Mel Gibson (Hannibal), Ving Rhames (B.A.), and Jim Carrey (Murdock). These are most likely wishful thinking from a fan somewhere, as any movie that put, for example, Gibson and Carrey together would be prohibitively expensive. Director: Unknown Screenwriter: Kevin Brodbin (1996's The Glimmer Man; cowriter of Mindhunters) Screenwriter Note: Before Brodbin was hired, Richard Hatem (cowriter of Under Siege 2: Dark Territory) also wrote a script for this project. Based upon: The NBC TV series (1983-1987) starring Mr. T, George Peppard, Dwight Schultz, and Dirk Benedict about four falsely convicted Vietnam vets who escape from prison, on the run, working as mercenaries. My Opinion: The script is probably already written (or being rewritten), but my opinion is that fan favorite Mr. T should be brought back as B.A. as the link between the old team and the new team. B.A. was only a sergeant, so he couldn't be the leader, but I'd still rather see Mr. T as B.A. than someone else acting like Mr. T. It's only right. As long as B.A. is still afraid of flying, of course. Premise: (11/24/00) No details are known about this film's plot yet, except that it will bring the concept into the present day, ostensibly with a new team of military men on the run (and not the original four cast members), probably veterans of the Persian Gulf War. Filming: Production had been scheduled tentatively to start sometime in the spring of 2001. There's no current word about when this might get started. Genres: Action, Comedy Official Production Company Site: Cannell.com Official Site: Status: In Development Input about Upcomingmovies.com, or any movie covered here, is encouraged. Alien 5
Release Date: Unknown; there are currently no firm plans (ie, a script, director, production start date, cast besides Sigourney weaver, etc.) to make another film. That doesn't mean the possiblity isn't there... it just hasn't gotten started yet. Title Note: One possibility for the next Alien film is a project called Aliens Vs Predator which has already been popular as a video game, comic books, etc. The script exists, and the film was included in Chris Gore's book, The 50 Greatest Movies Never Made (pages 13-17). Corona's Coming Attractions has plenty of information on it. Distributor: 20th Century Fox Cast: None announced yet; however, Sigourney Weaver told SCI FI Wire while promoting Galaxy Quest that she might be interested in coming back if a 5th film was ever planned. Director: Unknown. Screenwriter: Unknown. There's been rumors of scripts penned by Sigourney Weaver or Joss Whedon (Alien: Resurrection) that have floated around online, but both were quite false. Based upon: If this film is ever made, it would of course be a sequel to Alien, the 1979 film about, well, aliens. The last film was Alien: Resurrection, the 4th, released in late 1997. Delay Note: One thing worth noting about the Alien series is that a long wait between films is not exactly new. There was seven years between Alien and Aliens (1986), and then six years until Alien3, and five years until Alien: Resurrection. The reason that point is important to remember is that though Fox may seem cold to the concept of an Alien 5, they may change their mind by the seven year mark, 2004... that's a long time. Premise: Officially, there is no script, so there is no premise. Premise Rumors: The ending of Alien: Resurrection suggested that the next film could be about the aliens on Earth, but when she talked to SCI FI Wire in December, 1999, Sigourney Weaver mentioned that she'd like to do one that took place not on humanity's homeworld, but on the homeworld of the aliens... Filming: There is no production date for this film, since there is no script, or concrete plans to make it anytime soon. Genre: Action, Eye Candy, Science Fiction Unofficial Rumor Control Site: The Alien Saga Movie Page (There are several fan sites that cover the possibilities of a 5th film, but this page seemed most complete and updated) Official Series Site: url=http://Alien-Movies.com Official Site: Status: In Development (Vaguely... there's not currently any plans to make another film, but the concept of a 5th film hasn't yet been completely shot down by 20th Century Fox; but it's definitely not going to happen anytime soon) Input about Upcomingmovies.com, or any movie covered here, is encouraged.
