LISA GERRARD - Two new albums in 2003


4AD is delighted to announce that 2003 will see the release of two new albums by Lisa Gerrard - her first releases since "Duality" came out in 1998. Lisa has been extremely busy in Hollywood since she last found time to make a record for 4AD - and extremely successful, too. Her music for "Gladiator", composed in collaboration with Hans Zimmer, was awarded a Golden Globe and nominated for an Oscar, and she has also worked on high profile films like Ali and The Insider. However, Autumn 2002 saw her making a bolt for her studio in Melbourne with fellow composer Patrick Cassidy, and three months of high intensity work brought forth "Immortal Memory". Later this month Lisa will perform a low-key show as part of the Morning Star Concert for West Papua on February 28th at the Melbourne Concert Hall - more info: www.morningstarconcert.com

2002 also saw Lisa writing the music for an independent New Zealand film called "Whale Rider". 4AD will be tying the release of this soundtrack into the release of the film, which has already won prestigious awards at the Toronto film festival and the Sundance film festival. The Insider soundtrack is geweldig...verder ken ik weinig van haar...ohja, Gladiator..ook goed :D

ohh ja !!!!! heerlijke muziek. Voor gladiator had ik nog nooit van haar gehoord, maar sindsdien is er behoorlijk wat gedownload van haar :o .

Ik vind haar naam trouwens ook wel cool aangezien ik zelf gerard heet en een goeie vriendin Lisa :p

zelf vind ik 'the mirror pool' nog steeds het beste van haar :)

Brendan Perry heeft ook een solo cd gemaakt. Ook wel aardige cd.

Ik vind die zelfs een stuk beter dan het solo-werk van Lisa - alhoewel er natuurlijk niets boven gewoon samen Dead Can Dance gaat.

Liefhebbers zouden ook This Mortal Coil moeten uitproberen. Dat is zo'n steeds van samenstelling wisselende projectband, met verschillende artiesten van het label 4AD. Op de cd It'll end in Tears staan een aantal liedjes waarin Lisa Gerrard zingt.
