"06.18.03 - LEVI'S LAST SHOW!
After a lot of deep thought and consideration I have decided to make the punk prom my last show with Fall Silent. I feel as if I need to move on to different musical directions and areas of life. I would be kidding myself to think that I could do Fall Silent and other musical projects with my life being so hectic and busy all of the time. So that is why I must move on down the road. I don't know about the future of Fall Silent, that would better be asked of the remaining members of the group. But as for me, I am going to call it quits after the punk prom set, and I would like all of the old fans, the new fans, and friends to be a part of this last show with me. It will be the end of a nine year love affair with thrash hardcore music for me and I would like to go out with a bang."

Kut dus, gezien dit een van mijn top 3 hardcore bands is. Deze zanger had echt een ongelofelijk goede stem. Karakterestiek maar toch heel dynamisch. Een fucking breed scala aan stemtechnieken had die kerel.

Eigenzinnige hardcore :). Ook bruut poetisch (y).

Is trouwens best wel erg ja... :p.

Hmm ik zal t eens uitchecken. Is zeker erg newschool en metalachtig?

check ook de cover van Pat Benetar's "Heartbreaker" ...totaal anders dan hun beuk-hardcore werk, laat meteen ook zien dat die gast meer dan schreeuwen kan.

Het is zeker qua riffs zeker (thrash) metal beinvloed, maar het heeft nog steeds een bepaalde (door beukende) eenvoud die je in thrash/oldskool hardcore terugvind. Kinda like Raised Fist dat ook doet, maar dan weer anders.

Ik zie de vergelijking met Raised Fist eigenlijk niet direct. Die hebben een veel 'zwaardere' sound zegmaar.
Maarjah, ik bne dan ook een leek :P

Ik merkte dan ook op dat hun sound verschilt. Hun overeenkomst is het snel beukende, DOCH niet typisch old skool geluid.

Ze hadden zelfs tussen het beuken door lekker complexe dep/messugah style ritmetjes, maar het nieuwe album beukt zonder al te veel technische shit. Anyway, ik dig al hun werk wel.

Die Rutger toch, het is me er eentje.

Why did Fall Silent choose Revelation Records as the record label that would put out their albums?
We decided to hook up with Revelation Records because they were the only ones who ever have offered us a record deal that was worth it to us. The albums we put out on other people's smaller labels were because they were friends of ours or we could not pay for it ourselves at the time. We did most of the major works totally DIY without any label help or support. It was just us in our spare time selling albums and sending them to distributors and doing all the support for our albums ourselves. At the time that Ron from Revelation called us and offered us a deal, we were at the lowest point in Fall Silent history. Most of the members of the band had moved on to other areas of their lives, there was no one else who could fill the positions well, and we were about to finally call it quits when Rev offered us a deal. They called us out of the blue and we jumped at the offer to put out our records on such a historical and major indie label. The deal quickly got us a solid line-up and we started work on new material for later releases.

What difference does Revelation bring to Fall Silent?
The only really difference worth mentioning is that it is much easier to do Fall Silent because of Revelation. We can focus on being a band and writing songs or working on our stage show rather than trying to sell albums and publicize them. Revelation has some of the best publicists and sales people in the whole scene and they push our albums and get it out to all the people we were reaching and many more who have never heard of us. It feels good to know that even while I am not doing any band related tasks that there are people out there trying to get our album out to people. It also has got us a few more fans than before and that is always nice.

Revelation maarliefst. Niet dat ik die nieuwe releases nog echt volg op dat label maargoed...

Tja gewoon checken dan maar die hap, en niet naar rosa luisteren, die vind het niks :(.

Natuurlijk luister ik niet naar rosa. Die luistert bold en glassjaw. :D ;)

ik luister nu Fall Silent - Seven Plies en ik heb nog nooit zoiets gehoord, ik weet niet of ik het goed vind, kzal het nog is luisteren op een ander moment, maar het klinkt wel grappig maar ook on the other hand een beetje irritant.

Seven Plies staat op de site ja, dies best cool, maar niet hun ultieme nummer.

Het album SuperStructure zit trouwens vol complexiteit en blastbeats enzo, als je daar van houdt.

was deels een grapje maar goed ik luister vaak naar gcf (dat is toch ook yXe?)

blastbeats, het woord alleen al zegt genoeg, waar ik nog mee over de band heb gezegd.

ik hou zelf niet van dit genre maar het valt nog wel mee. Al vind ik de harde stukken met de blastbeats over het algemeen vrij saai, en ik vind de productie niet erg denderend.

het eerste nummer is te vaag gewoon, er zitten goede stukken in maar ook stukken waarvan ik denk, bah. de drum kan mij nog wel eens niet bevallen in combinatie met de rest, en jammer dat ze een DJ hebben
