Standstill
Zoals altijd als ik op vakantie ga kom ik met een bandje terug uit dat land, waar ik ook graag reclame voor maak... De vorige keer was het Elviss een vrij geniaal en apart rock/ikweetnietwat bandje.. Nou is het de beurt aan Standstill, ik heb op het moment maar een liedje gehoord maar het klinkt best wel heel gaaf... Ik kwam het toevallig tegen in het cdwinkeltje hier en misschien dat het wel gigantisch bekend is want mij klonk het bekend in de oren maar ik weet niet waarvan, maar goed ik heb dus een liedje gedownt met mijn telefoonlijn hier en het klinkt best gaaf. Standstill is the emotional machinery of five talented young men who have a love for music above all else and who drive their anger, fears, frustrations, joy and illusions through a passionate and honest mouthpiece of composition and performance. Its five members are Enric (vocals, guitar), Piti (guitar,vocals, keyboards), Carlos (guitar and vocals), Elias (bass, xylophone) and Ricky (drums). When their full-length debut The Ionic Spell (BCoredisc) was released in 2001 no one knew (including their label) that it would become one of the most influential records of the Spanish post-hardcore scene. Standstill quickly surpassed the other bands of its genre, and it was only a matter of time before the media and the rest of Europe caught on.
