Wil iemand mijn brief voor Engels even controleren?
 

Ik heb voor Engels een brief moeten schrijven, maar aangezien ik niet echt goed ben in Engels, weet ik niet zeker of alles klopt (vooral grammaticaal).

De opdracht:
Je vriend heeft ontdekt dat hij/zij door donorsperma is verwekt. Hij heeft nu de gegevens van zijn donorvader. Help hem een brief te schrijven.
Wat er in moet:
Uiterlijk, hobby's, en geruststelling.


Dit heb ik ervan gemaakt:

My hobbies are football, playing the guitar and reading. What do you do in your free time?

Again, I hope I didn’t scare your, and I hope you would like to get in touch with me.

veel succes. Let op je interpunctie en het gebruik van aanwijzende en bezittelijke voornaamwoorden. voor de rest zag het er prima uit

Dat "scare your" was een stomme typfout :s

En het is inderdaad een opdracht uit de Wasp :)

Voor de rest: Bedankt iedereen :)

Voor wat het waard is: ik vond het helemaal geen slechte brief :)

Dat stukje met playing guitar (zoals jij het zegt), klopt niet..

Met muziekinstrumenten is het altijd met "the" ervoor.

Bijvoorbeeld:

I'm teaching myself to play the guitar.
I like to play the drums.

etc. etc. etc.

Denk alleen dat deze reply veeeeel te laat is om nog die brief te verbeteren maar dat maakt niet uit :)

klopt, voor guitar gebruik je the article

"I have been given your email adress...etc" is grammaticaal gezien een onjuiste constructie. Immers, het subject is "your email adress". De persoon aan wie dit gegeven wordt, is meew. voorwerp. "I" kan geen meew. voorwerp zijn. Dus -> your email adress has been (beter: was) given to me.
