Need you help!
Hi all,
I am an international student and I am not a dutch speaking, so it is very difficult for me to find a job that can finance my study here. Is anyone can help me or give me some tips? I really do not mind the salary and whether it is a black work. Thanks in advance! wander72 |
by the way, I am living in Rotterdam.

well okey,
you can try in an irisch pub (we have many of them, I think at least a few in Rotterdam) the sales people are used to speak englisch over there en the costumers know that... I don't know the address but I think you can ask in a VVV office where the pub's in Rotterdam are... Good luck waarom kan ik geen engels :( :o....... |
You could try a callcenter job, allthough they often ask for people who speak several languages, and by the looks of it, you´re not english. Try hotel helpdesks for foreigners, stuff like that.
Take advantage of the things you know and can do. Look at vacancy sites, use google, you could try jobcentres, Good luck |
Like 'Never mind' said: you can try pubs for foreign people.
I've searched on the internet and found three things. You can find them on: http://www.stedengids.nl/Zuid-Hollan...fes/more2.html This site is in Dutch, but you should check the first three links. |
My englisch is not very good ;)
But I know by us in the supermarket worked a boy that speak englisch. So maybe a supermarket is a option's (i work in Albert Heijn:)) |

First of all welcome to The Netherlands and the Scholieren.com Forum! There is an international recruitment agency in Utrecht, called The Undutchables. They specialise in jobs suitable to non-Dutch speakers. You may want to try if they have any vacancies. Their website address is: http://www.undutchables.nl/ If you require any further help or advice, you can also ICQ/MSN/Email me. Click the http://images.scholieren.com/images/profile.gif icon for contact details. Good luck! |

Thank you all....I have tried the two Irish Pub/bar in R'dam. However, there is no positive reply...  Anyway, thank you ideas...I also tried the job agency, some of which are special for english speaking. But they can give me a job if I have a worke permit. As a student, I am allowed legally to work 10 hours per week. Unfortunatelly, the job agency does not have such kind of work if I can not speak Dutch. I am in Dilemma :s

Have you got an internet connection AND a telephone line? Maybe you can try NIPO (http://www.tns-nipo.com). They sometimes need English people for English-speaking contacts. Maybe you can call people to do interviews.
The email adress of TNS Nipo is info@tns-nipo.com . Maybe you can mail them and explain your situation. They have a callcenter, too, in Amsterdam. They are not fast at all in replying emails. So maybe you can try to call them, I found their number on their website: 020-5225 444. Good luck! again terrible English :s (van mijn kant dan). Alleen als je bedenkt hoe lang ik er al over doe om dit te verzinnen.... |
Maybe you can apply for mailman or deliver newspapers.

Where are you from? You can try restaurants from that part of the world (not neccesary your country). Last year i did an international study and 80% of the foreign students found work in a restaurant.
