oasis was ooit een goeie band, de eerste 2 albums vind ik nogsteeds erg gezellig af en toe

Ik zie er toch aardig wat dingen tussen die ik toch aardig kan waarderen. Maar goed, stond dit artikel van Guitar World Magazine niet in de lijst van worst articles and lists of time? Ik bedoel: dit is vergelijkbaar met zelftests van de Yes en Breakout.

Deze lijst bevat hier en daar gigantische onzin maar is nog altijd beter dan de MTV Rock Top 100 allertijden.

Maar goed, ik zie dit blad geen Dismissed of Room Raiders maken dus hoe serieus je ze moet nemen is natuurlijk de vraag.

Die lijst is nog achterlijker dan MTV's rock top 100.
Er zijn zo extreem veel bands, het is vrijwel onmogelijk dat zulke grote bands als AC/DC en Slayer verantwoordelijk zouden zijn voor de slechtste riffs.

Wow, what dexterity. What agility. This guy can both ascend and descend his way through an entire jazz melodic minor scale before you can say "math-rock." This is the sound of claustrophobia, folks. So many notes in such a short span of time chokes any song-- it leaves no breathing room. But this antiseptic drivel precludes any real sort of tunesmithing, anyway. Players like Holdsworth helped perpetuate this sort of selfish individualism in the prog-rock sphere.

(Panic Station staat trouwens op Metal Fatigue, niet op I.O.U.)

Verder wordt John McLaughlin in een bozo genoemt en in een hokje met Yngwie Malmsteen en Steve Vai gestopt...

de meeste lui op pitchforkmedia kennen denk ik net wat meer dan jij kent. En zijn niet mensen/gitaristen die alleen op techniek en pinchharmonics, sweep arpeggio's geilen.

Dit soort lijsten staan altijd vol met bekende nummers, die ook in een best riffs, licks & solos lijst zouden staan.. Al is het alleen al omdat mensen gefrustreerd raken als ze een nummer te vaak in een besten-lijst zien staan...

Denk aan beste en slechtste artiest verkiezingen, waarbij Britney Spears of bv. Madonna in beide lijsten in de Top-10 staat.. Meeste fans en meeste gefrustreerde anti-fans.
