I’m going to talk about my continuation course.
(ehm, rotzin wel.. "I'm going to talk about what I'm going to study next year"?)
I’m going to study commercial economics.
The study will teach you something about economics and about ways to sell products.
You can expect subjects like commercial economics, business economics, Dutch, English and maths. And you also have to choose a third language: German or French. I’m going to choose French.
The duration of this study is 4 years. / This study takes 4 years.
- In the first year you can get your foundation course [
je wat?
], with you foundation course you can go to a university. In the first year you will get general subjects, like commercial economics and business economics. Also you have to improve your languages.
- In the second year you are going to study the subjects of your first year more thoroughly.
- In the third and fourth year, you will do a work placement practice (stage? > internship). Also you are going to specialise in one subject.
This study does have admission requirements. With the profiles C&M (Culture&Society) and E&M (Economics&Society) you are accepted automatically. With the profiles N&G and N&T you have to have Economics 1 in your chosen set of course options to be accepted.
In the future you can become a manager or a commercial adviser with this study. You will get a function in sale or marketing of companies.
I’m going to study commercial economics on the Avans college in Den Bosch. This college is highly valued. A high percentage of people who studied commercial economics there, ended up with good results. 59% finished the study succesfully: this is the highest percentage of all the schools in the Netherlands that offer this course. This college is also very new. It is build in 1990. It’s a very modern building with a lot of glass.
I have chosen this study because I like economics and I didn’t had a real profession in mind. With this study I can be a lot of things, a lot of carriers are possible. I also like the fact that the college is situated in Den Bosch, which is very close to my home town.
Weet niet alles helemaal zeker, maar oke.
