heey allemaal kunnen jullie misschien mijn fouten verbeteren alvast bedankt!

Hello everyone my presentation is about Savita halapannavar. I have chosen this subject because I find it very terrible what happened to Savita. And I thought it was a good topic to talk about.

First I’m going to tell you who Savita is then I’m going to tell you what happened to her, After that I’m going to tell how the Country thinks of abortion, next I’m going to tell you how the inhabitants respond. And then I will show you a video and at least I have a statement for you.

Who is Savita?

Savita is an Indian woman who lives in Ireland. She is 31 years old. She has studied and she became a dentist. She is a Hindu. Her husband name is Praveen Halappanavar. She died 28th of October in University Hospital in Galway.

What happened?

She was 17 weeks pregnant. She was hospitalized because of severe pain in her back. It was determined that she would get a miscarriage. They refused to give her an abortion. Because it’s a Catholic country. According to her husband Praveen Halappanaver they did not give her an abortion because they heard the palpitations of the fetus (embryo). She asked several times for abortion but they said again that they can’t do it because in Ireland abortion is forbidden. When the palpitations of the fetus stopped they removed the fetus. After the removing she got problems with her kidneys and her heart and then she died. She was very happy because It would be her first baby.

The thoughts of the country:

Ireland is a Catholic country. So therefore is abortion forbidden. Since 1992, women seeking an abortion within Ireland have been given the ‘right to travel’, which usually involves women leaving their families to travel to the closest major English city, Liverpool, where abortion is legal.

How do the inhabitants respond?

The people in Ireland are very angry. They find that they diminish the rights of women. And not everyone is Catholic in Ireland. They find that Savita's life was in danger and was entitled to an abortion.

Now I will show you a video.

I have a statement for you : Do you think it’s right that the country decides whether you commit abortion?

She asked several times for AN abortion but they said again they COULDN'T do it. So therefore abortion is forbidden. And SHE was entitled to an abortion.
Ziet er verder volgens mij goed uit. Succes.
