Dustin Kensrue - Please Come Home

Het verbaast me eigenlijk dat hier nog geen topic over is, aangezien deze cd echt geweldig in het gehoor ligt, mits je wat folk en country invloeden kan hebben uiteraard. Voor de mensen die niet weten wie het is, een kleine bio:

Since the formation of Thrice in 1998, Dustin Kensrue was most notably known as the lead singer, lyricist, and guitarist for the well-regarded Irvine, CA, post-hardcore quartet. And while Thrice always remained his top priority, he began more seriously working on solo acoustic material around 2004. Originally working under the project name Ursus Veritas, Kensrue eventually dropped the moniker, choosing instead to work under his own name. Tracks first appeared online via MySpace in spring 2005, and Kensrue eventually took some brief time away from work on Thrice's fifth studio effort the next year to finish up the recording of his debut record with co-producer and Thrice bandmate Teppei Teranishi. He hit the road for ten days that summer to play select dates around the United States. Playing various originals, covers, and the occasional Thrice song, he was joined on his first solo tour by Lucero's Ben Nichols on East Coast dates and ex-Hot Water Music frontman Chuck Ragan on the West Coast. Kensrue ultimately signed with Equal Vision in fall 2006, and the label issued the folk- and country-tinged Please Come Home the following January.

beter te hebben dan Thrice (een band waar ik amper iets mee kan). Ik heb alleen niks met de stem van die gast, dan zet ik liever American V nog n keer op.

Is die laatste Thrice eigenlijk wat? Na Artist bla niet meer gechecked namelijk en daar stonden wel wat leuke nmrs op.

Vheissu is een erg experimenteel album. Sferisch vooral! Ik trek 'm erg goed. Staan alleen maar goede tracks op als je 't mij vraagt. Veel minder hapklaar en commercieel als TAITA.

Ook deze plaat van Dustin klinkt erg lekker trouwens!

Wat STP zegt . Vheissu is wel een vette plaat. Oh en ze zijn nu bezig met een 4delig album, waarbij elke cd een van de 4 elementen vertegenwoordigd. Ik ben benieuwd.

Hm, ik zal em binnenkort dan maar eens checken, ben nu toch wel benieuwd, vooral naar dat sferisch aspect, daar kan ik me zo niet echt wat bij voorstellen.

Ik trek Dustin's muziek op zich wel redelijk, maar ik vind 'm in thrice sowieso beter.
