In the middle ages the fox was a cunning animal. His tales told the people of freedom of mind and humoured the nobles. That fox tricked the king in mercy, so he lived on. Yet the fox is as well subject to all the weaknesses of man. God's punishment for the fox is pride.
It is that pride that brings the fox away from his cunning ways. It makes him blunt, opinionated and absolute. Like a rainstorm on a romantic date, he does not allow its relative unimportance dissuade him from commenting negatively on whatever he encounters. He considers himself entitled to it by the rules of society.
More improtantly, the fox considers himself representative for the society he comes from. If people ask him: "What?" He will assume an air of untouchability, look down upon all others that could be considered his peers. He answers for them, in his words. The fox will never consider the impact his words will have.
Tears of despair are his only goal, because he feels no satisfaction, except for in the destruction of dreams.
