I lived a perfect life
thought everything was fine
playing, singing, dancing
in mornings magical sunshine

but then there was you
and the rain fell down
and pierced my eyes
I could not speak
could only cry
through my tears
I could not see
that all you did
was lie to me
through my tears
I could not see
that you just wouldn't
let me be

'cause there you came
and there you left
leaving me
at the bottom of the sea
saying it was to please me
but in reality
silently drowning me

well, in the deepest
darkest side of life
at the bottom of the sea
I learned that I could be saved
by no one else but me

so I built this wall around my heart
would not let anyone in
thought I was being smart
but I was like an oister
a heard shell
but a pearl within

call me a bitch
if that's what pleases you
I know that deep in your heart
you find me beautiful
gorgeous and smart
you wish you could be more like me
but.. you see..

you can be
who you wanna be

Ik heb nie veel verstand van engelse gedichten, maar ik vind er mooie stukjes tussen zitten...
