We chose to describe the 7s-model of a supermarket. Lizzy works at a small supermarket named Pryma Beukema. This is a supermarket in Deest, a small town in Maas en Waal. A lot of old people come to this store, because it is close to the old people’s flats.

Strategy
The goals of this organization are to serve the customers and to retain high profit.

Our most important competitors are the big supermarkets in the cities near Deest. The strong point of this organization is that it can give a lot of services, because there is only a small group of customers. The weak point is that a small supermarket has high prices.
Structure
This organization is a one-man business. This means that the owner is also the manager. Beside the owner there are a Personnel Manager and 13 employees who are all equal to each other.
Systems
In this organization there are a few systems, like a cash desk system, an accounting system and an information system for several things such as staff matters, orders and plannings.

The owner makes the decisions, but he does confer with his Personnel Manager and his employees.
Staff
The staff contains only women. On weekdays there are a few older women present, who work part time. At the weekend there are a few girls of age 16 to 20 present. Most employees are not educated.
Style
The owner of the supermarket knows how to handle criticism, and conflicts within the organization are mostly easily solved. The employees believe that the owner is trustworthy and easy to approach when you have a problem.
Shared Values
The people in this organization are proud of the status of this supermarket in the town. The employees are very close with each other and there is a very good atmosphere within this organization.
Skills
Customer-friendliness is very important within this organization, because of the small group of customers. This is the most important factor to compete in this business.
Conclusion
This supermarket is an organization that is very directed on customer-friendliness. It is a small organization with a lot of competitors, who can offer lower prices but not that much service.
