On an undeniable rampage, 108 is shocking listeners back to consciousness and getting them thinking again, feeling again, and banging their heads in defiance at the near-death of heavy music with message. Their first proper studio album in over a decade, "A New Beat From A Dead Heart" was recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou (Converge) at Godcity Studios. 86 Mentality – Final Exit EP (Deranged) - 4 Euro On their third 7", DC's 86 Mentality play another six tracks of oi/street punk inspired hardcore that takes cues from bands like New York hardcore alumni Life's Blood and local DC legends Iron Cross. Allegiance - Desperation LP / CD (Rivalry) - 10 / 12 Euro With its sophomore full-length, "Desperation," Allegiance has tossed much of its youthful idealism aside and embraced a stripped down, bare bones, all-out attack on the listener instead. The album embodies the weight of frustration that comes from giving everything you've got, only to be left with an unsatisfying vacuous feeling of what to do next. Ambitions - Exile EP (Bridge 9) - 4 Euro Ambitions is a band that's hard to define, with influences ranging from Quicksand and Fugazi to Bad Religion and Face to Face, you hear strong roots in hardcore, but a unique sound that is all their own. This seven song limited live EP features one of the best in the only form that can give you an accurate picture of what this band's about, the live show." Bored to Death - Self-titled EP (Sorry State) - 4 Euro Hailing from Sapporo, Japan, Bored To Death named themselves from a song off Government Issue's "Legless Bull" EP and seem as if they would fit right in with Dischord Records' early singles with these eight tracks of fast hardcore punk. Bracewar - Juggernaut LP (1917) - 10 Euro Back with their debut full-length, Richmond, VA's Bracewar keep to their formula of modern, moshy hardcore played at great speed, much like Outbreak, but this time around adding a little more mid-tempo punch, while still managing to harness the intensity of their EP. Ceremony - Scared People EP (Bridge 9) - 4 Euro Ceremony is a band that came raging out of the Bay Area of California and are stopping at nothing. Hand-numbered out of 500 copies. Destroy LA - Vandalize EP (No Way) - 4 Euro 1980's skate punk is alive and well with Destroy L.A., who seem to pay tribute to the old Nardcore/Mystic bands on this debut EP, taking influence from bands like RKL, Ill Repute and Dr. Know. Down To Nothing - The Most LP / CD (Revelation) - 10 / 12 Euro Down To Nothing's Revelation debut full-length, "The Most," is a fully realized outlet for their sound, melding their energy and strength with a newfound melody. With influences ranging from Gorilla Biscuits and Judge to local Richmond, VA legends Four Walls Falling. Generations - Our Times EP (Mankind) - 4 Euro From the very first practice, a progressive sound emerged that combined the fast-pace of youth-crew hardcore with the hard-hitting rhythms of rock. With the addition of Jim's intensely passionate and personal lyrics, the band knew they had something special brewing. Get The Most - Moment In Time (Crucial Response) - 4 Euro Following up their debut EP, "Common Goals," Vancouver's Get The Most provide six more tracks of positive, youth-crew influenced hardcore on this 7", taking cues from both old favorites like Insted and Youth Of Today as well as newer bands like In My Eyes and The First Step. Living Hell - Pavor Nocturnis EP (Lockin Out) - 4 Euro With roots in both Connecticut and Boston, Living Hell debuted in 2006 with 'Pavor Nocturnis.' A dark and grizzled EP, 'Pavor Nocturnis' resonates influences from the heavier side of hardcore, a metallic approach that calls to mind bands like Judge, Integrity and Ringworm. Meltdown - Demolition EP (Closed Casket) - 4 Euro Taking a base blueprint of hardcore with influences like the Cro-Mags and the almighty Integrity, which is a pretty good place to start, and adding thrash and metal to the mix, reminiscent of (old) Metallica and Anthrax. Merauder - Master Killer LP (Reaper) - 12 Euro Classic album now again available on vinyl! Mind Eraser - Glacial Reign LP (Painkiller) - 10 Euro Boston's Mind Eraser have returned with another twelve blazing tracks of hardcore/powerviolence mayhem. Think of Black Flag, Circel Jerks and Decendents. Total Abuse – Sex Pig EP (Deranged) - 4 Euro The first vinyl offering by ex-Snobs will not disappoint.
