Bathory frontman Quorthon is dood gevonden op 07-06-2004 in zijn appartement na de gevolgen van een hartaandoening. 39 jaar.

Heb zelf ook alleen Nordlands1 en Hammerheart maar origineel.

For on this dark day a pioneer of the Black Metal musical genre left us to ride the storm accompanied by the Valkyrjur. On Monday June 7, Tomas Quorthon Forsberg of the legendary BATHORY had his flame stilled by the All-father. He was found dead in his home in Stockholm, Sweden, of a possible heart failure.
BATHORY was both the true initiator of Black Metal as well as epic Viking Metal. Leaving behind over a dozen recordings to his benefit. Inspiring a whole generation of BM and Viking Metal musicians Quorthon has left no one indifferent. He had his faults, but he had his qualities as well, and those transpired through his Art. Especially his Viking Art. I, for one, was inspired by his visions of glorious battles, the tales of conquests across the seas, the tragic death of fathers and joyous birth of sons under the northern sky. His music awakened memories of a past once so alive and real, a past we have forgotten for the most part. Through his music the spirits of fallen warriors spoke to us and made us remember. The ancient flame of Heathen pride burned fiercely through his music and words. “Father to son”, “A fine day to die”, Baptized in fire and ice”, “Hammerheart” and the classic” Blood fire death”, are but a few of the many epic sagas brought to vivid life for us to listen, read and live with him.
Of the many Black Metal musicians who have fallen under the cold hand of Death, Quorthon has a place of Honor. Sadly taken away by the sometimes treacherous claws of nature, his legacy will live on through his music for ages to come. Never to be forgotten.

In the golden halls of Valhöll you now sit, at the oaken table of Wotan. Awaiting the Twilight of the Gods. What you have left behind shall be sung in tribute to you by those whom you have touched. Those who have heard the hammer pounding hard the Heathen creed of Honor. We, born with a Hammerheart.

Sterker nog, krijg dan meteen een bepaalde ziekte waarvan de afkorting vier letters rijk is. Bathory ist uns heilig namelijk.
