Brits school systeem

Ik weet niet echt waar ik deze topic moet plaatsen dus heb ik het alvast hier gepost...

Ik kreeg de opdracht om een artikel te schrijven over ' the sixth form ' in Engeland. Even verduidelijken wat de sixth form is, dit is bij ons gelijk aan het vijfde en zesde jaar secundair onderwijs.

Ik schreef dus wat er allemaal te beleven valt in die sixth form, welke verantwoordelijkheden ze hebben en hoe leerlingen tot de sixth form toegelaten kunnen worden... Hier volgt een stukje :

After taking GCSE examinations ( General Certificate of Secondary Education ) at the age of sixteen youngsters move on to the sixth form, a two – of three year study programme preparing for university or other academic level studies.

Sixth formers enjoy greater independence and responsibility than pupils in lower year groups. Sixth formers have the opportunity to pursue, in some of their private study periods, worthwhile activities such as driving lessens. Sixth formers als enjoy a wide choice of games and cultural activities that provides variety.

The sixth form centre is naturally the focus of a great deal of sixth form life : the common rooms have a vending machine for drinks and snacks, a television, stereo, daily newspapers and easy chairs. More important than the facilities, is the “ buzz ” that comes from a lively group of people who enjoy each others’ company. There is a sixth form committee which meets to promote initiatives within the school such as fund - raising for charity and social events.

We ( = the schools ) are delighted with the way in which new members of the school integrate rapidly with their fellow pupils, with their academic success, and with their tremendous involvement in areas such as music, drama, sport and community service.

Entry to the sixth form is based on an interview and a satisfactory report from the candidate’s present Head Teacher.

Nu is mijn vraag, wat vinden jullie van dit systeem, zouden jullie het leuk vinden zoveel verantwoordelijkheid, een ' examen ' maken om te zien of je doormag naar het vijfde secundair + een interview en je buitenschoolse interesses zoals drama en sport...

Je meningen kan je hier kwijt... ( eventuele fouten in mijn Engelse tekst mag je vermelden maar het gaat hier eerder om de meningen... )

Ik vind het systeem veel te selectief, ze kiezen er dus enkel de besten uit, maar wat als jij nu tijdens dat interview heel zenuwachtig bent en niet aangenomen wordt, terwijl je wel een BRIGHT SPARK ( = intelligent iemand ) bent.
