geniaal gewoon. 'Waterhaul'is denk ik het beste nummer dat ik dit jaar gehoord heb(weliswaar pas 6 weken onderweg, maar toch). 'end of august'begint met iets wat je niet verwacht van 36cf. ze hebben meer core gekozen, wat carn zei, maar dat ook afgewisseld met vrij catchy refreintjes, die nog steeds goed aandoen. dit album lijkt meer completer

mijn voorlopige recensie voor rock-e-zine.com:
(na 20 luisterbeurten) This is the end of nu-metal. Nu metal is death. This record is the murderer. With no motiv. It will not get back in the shape we know it. It does not get any better than this. They ended it here. Today. Now. ‘A snowcapped romance’ is a brilliant title for a brilliant album. 11 songs. 11 genius songs. Fuck you what a record. I can end this review right now with the words: ‘Go get this record. Essential.’ But I won’t. I will let you know where my euphory comes from. Step by step. It begins with ‘end of august’with some genius song lines. It is just the combination of the spoken words, the screams and the raw emotion. What has become of the broken hearted? Carve your names, I will remember every one of you. Songs like ‘Heart and the shape’, ‘bloodwork’ and ‘with nothing underneath’are songs that has an brutal character but are o so pure and that it almost make you get the shivers These are emotions as emotions are originally ment. ‘Song for the fisherman’ is a spoken word song, but with some poetic lyrics, that does not come over as an pseudo poetic fucked up lyric made by an lead singer that longs for a depression but does not know the meaning of it. 36 crazyfists has more eye for the melody. A song like ‘Installing the catheter’ shows you wat I mean. A refrain that is so fucking catchy but ends with an hardcore a like breakdown. Beauty and the beast? No fuck you. Fuck the beauty fuck the beast. This is music on a whole different frequention. Absolute highlight is the last song ‘Waterhaul’ wich is the best song I’ve heard in months. It has only 2 parts, but yet still so effective. It has everything. The lyrics are so amazing, like the whole record. 11 songs with lyrics that are not cliché, but full of metaphores and original hooks. Maybe this cd is less brutal and heavy, but from stillistic eyeview it has better structures, better songs. The dynamic is perfect, the songs are built so well up you can listen to these songs every moment of the day. Melancholic and Cynic. Like reading a book from Herman Brusselmans (famous belgian writer). I have to give this cd 95 points, the highest rating since I work here. And they deserve it. This is the end of nu-metal. This is the end of nu-metal as you know it. Go get this. Essential.

als ik jouw recensie lees vind ik hem opeens veel beter, hahah
leuk geschreven (al heb je wel wat gramaticale foutjes hier en daar )maar goed, mijn mening over a snowcapped romance: ik vind het een lekker cd'tje. niet geniaal, maar gewoon goed.

is het nu afgelopen met dat gezeik over die nieuwe 36 CF? 't is een leuk plaatje, maar lang niet zo geniaal als Friso's dronkemansgelal doet vermoeden en de produktie is eigenlijk best wel matig. Veel te dunnetjes.
