We are both sad and happy to announce that this will be the last year of Merck Records. Once we have completed releasing 50 cds and 50 vinyls sometime mid 2006, we will stop releasing new material. We have many reasons for this, in the interest of briefness we will just say that its time to move on. After we have completed 100 total releases we will sell off our remaining stock and there will be no more represses. We thank ALL the people who have supported us over the years, you have made this possible.

Breakcore Galore: Panacea (DE) e.a.
Terug van weggeweest: Breakcore Galore. Anderhalf jaar geleden na het optreden van Venetian Snares was de koek ff op, maar we pikken de draad weer op waar we gebleven waren. Tijdens de Breakcore Galore staat Atak in het teken staat van heftige breaks, vette beats en hemeltergend mooie melodiën: genres als breakcore, electronix, electro en tekno confronteren elke bezoeker met het feit dat de grenzen van de waanzin nog bij lange na niet bereikt zijn. Hoofdact Panacea (Duitsland) begon bijna 10 jaar geleden met het uitbrengen van behoorlijk verknipte Drum ‘n’ Bass, en scoort daarmee met name in de Verenigde Staten.

One Bit Music is a project by composer and artist Tristan Perich. Merging his interests in physical computing and electronic music, Perich programs and packages electronics in a standard CD jewel case. The device plays minimal glitch/dance music when headphones are plugged in. The music itself is all 1-bit and is generated by software written by Perich. The 'album' is meant to fit into the standard album-based method of music distribution: you will find it along other CDs in a record store and it has eleven different tracks and a skip button to move between them. The project was started in May 2004 and now that the music is finished it will be released in stores as-is. Tristan Perich is a composer and artist living in New York. His creative interests range from classical composition, to art and video, to dance, to new media. He currently attends ITP, a program in the digital arts at Tisch. Known for his old-school pushbutton telephone converted cell phone, One Bit Music merges his interests in music and electronics in a conceptually compelling fashion. His other artwork includes video and fiber optic sculpture, usually dealing with visual information and the threshold between image and pattern.
