Citaat:
Good education is one of the most important things for the next generations. If there are no possibilities for good education available, our country will sink fast! Nevertheless, it is obvious education is getting worse and worse last years. It is important for the next generations that we search for a solution. One possible solution is to change the traditional schools into single-sex schools. Is this really a good idea, or is it rubbish?

Firstly, pupils will be able to concentrate better on school lessons. When boys and girls are mixed in a class, they are easily districted. It’s inquired that pupils are less fast districted when girls and boys are separated in a class.

Another argument for single-sex schools is that most girls will perform better if there are only people of the same gender in a class. This has been proved by some inquiries, for example on schools in the United Kingdom, where 20 percent of the schools in the United Kingdom are single-sex schools, and some private schools in the US.

Thirdly, a positive argument for single-sex schools is that teachers can adapt their gym and dexterity lessons on gender. For example teachers can do gymnastics with girls and football with boys. The pupils will have more pleasure with these lessons if boys and girls are separated.

An argument against single-sex schools is that children do not learn to mix with each other if they were not both in the same classes. If they were, children learn to mix with the other gender. It could be an issue for the social development of next generations if they go to a single-sex school.

Secondly, single-sex schools can recall the opinion that men are better than women. Classes with only girls will called the ‘second rank’ opposed to ‘first rank’ for classes with only boys. To prevent things like this it is possible to make clear rules before opening the first single-sex schools.

In conclusion, it is not possible to say in general that single-sex schools are better or mixed schools. Each pupil has another personality. Some pupils will perform better in single-sex schools, but with other pupils it does not have any effect. Parents have to decide for themselves which kind of school is better for their children.
Als er iemand is die dit voor mij wil doen: Heel erg bedankt (sorry ik ben wat bescheiden)!

Firstly, pupils will be able to concentrate better on school lessons. When boys and girls are mixed in a class, they are easily distracted. It’s inquired (proven?) that pupils are less easily distracted when girls and boys are separated in a class.

Another argument for single-sex schools is that most girls will perform better if there are only people of the same gender in a class. This has been proved by research/some inquiries, for example on schools in the United Kingdom, where 20 percent of the schools are single-sex schools, and some private schools in the US.

Thirdly, a positive argument for single-sex schools is that teachers can adapt their P.E./physical education lessons to the gender they are working with. For example, teachers can do gymnastics with girls and football/soccer with boys. The pupils will enjoy these lessons more when boys and girls are separated.

An argument against single-sex schools is that children do not learn to mix with each other if they are not in the same class. If they were, children would learn to mix with the other gender. It could be an issue for the social development of next generations if they go to a single-sex school.
