Eight soccer stars face rape claim quiz by BEN TAYLOR, LECH MINTOWT-CZYZ and CHRISTIAN GYSIN, Daily Mail 30th September 2003 Football was dreading the possibility of another high-profile court case last night after accusations that up to eight Premiership players gang-raped a teenager in a five-star hotel. The highly-paid footballers are said to have forced the 17-year-old girl to have sex with them after a night out in London's West End. The claims have sparked internal football club inquiries and led to several of the players allegedly involved - who cannot be named by newspapers for legal reasons - being identified on the internet. The attack is said to have taken place in the early hours of Saturday morning at the Grosvenor House hotel in Park Lane, central London. At least three - perhaps four - players from a Premiership club had met for a night out. They joined up with a player from another Premiership team and three of his friends. Police sources said last night that they met the girl with a male friend at a bar. She then returned with the footballers to the hotel, where six rooms at £400 a night each had been booked in the name of one of the players. The attack is thought to have happened at around 4am. It is believed the girl agreed to have consensual sex with one of the players but has told police she was horrified when up to seven other men joined in. A source said: "The girl says what happened to her is brutal and humiliating." DNA samples Sixteen hours later the girl left the hotel and went to Marylebone police station with her friend to report the alleged incident. She was medically examined and offered counselling. It is likely that she will undergo an HIV test and has been checked for DNA samples. She was interviewed for several hours yesterday by officers from Scotland Yard's specialist Operation Sapphire team, which investigates serious sex attacks. Officers will examine her full account today and decide on a course of action. The hotel's in-house security firm is co-operating fully with police, and has handed over a tape of CCTV pictures from cameras that cover the reception area and most of the floors. The register and financial records are also being examined. Detectives interviewed staff who were on duty over the weekend. Forensic tests The third floor of the hotel was sealed off last night as officers conducted forensic tests on the king-size room at the centre of the allegations. Four officers stood guard in the corridor, restricting access to hotel guests. It emerged last night that the police hit on a clever ruse to identify exactly which room each player was staying in. The hotel manager agreed to deactivate the electronic key card entry system for each room - locking the players out when they tried to get in. To enter they then had to re-register in their own names. This allowed police to discover exactly who was in each room - which they could not do before because all the rooms had been booked in one name. Alibi claim Last night one of the named players, who is a current international, flatly denied involvement in any attack and said he had "nothing to do with anything". A friend said: "He assures me he has a full alibi for the time that these events were supposed to happen. "With that in mind any suggestion that he had anything to do with it would be very wide of the mark." In addition, the player's mother said she had spoken to her son and was certain that he had "done nothing wrong". "I spoke to him today and he never mentioned anything about it," she said. "All I can say is that he would never get involved in something like this." The mother of another of those named also insisted that her son, a promising youngster, would not be involved in any kind of sex attack. Earlier in the day some of the players had attended a training session. After their work-out, their club chairman is thought to have demanded a full explanation of what happened. Sources close to the club said they were "confident" that the matter would be cleared up without further police action. A Scotland Yard spokesman said last night: "We can confirm that the Metropolitan Police service has received an allegation of rape from a 17-year-old female. "At this stage it would be inappropriate to comment further. Inquiries are continuing." Last night it also emerged that at least one of the players stayed in London for Saturday night as well. He was pictured leaving at least two nightclubs - the Wellington in Knightsbridge and Rouge in the West End. On both occasions he was accompanied by another player. The Wellington, a known haunt of footballers, hit the headlines in January last year when Chelsea stars Jody Morris and John Terry were arrested. The pair, who were accused of fighting with a doorman, later stood trial accused of affray but were acquitted at Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court in August last year. Series of scandals Football has been trying to clean up its image after a series of scandals in recent years. The most high-profile of these involved former Leeds United players Lee Bowyer and Jonathan Woodgate, who went on trial accused of assaulting an Asian student in January 2000. Both walked free two years ago after a retrial. Bowyer was cleared and Woodgate served 100 hours' community service after being found guilty of affray. A spokesman for the Grosvenor House - one of London's most exclusive hotels - declined to comment last night Drie teams waren in Londen op bezoek: Liverpool, Newcastle en Aston Villa.  ik kan wel Engels, maar al die medische termen... Er idd geruchten van Newcastle ja, dus gelukkig geen Nederlandse international  . Ik weet niet of de politie de namen vrijgeeft, maar als het bekende spelers zijn dan hebben die dus een groot probleem.

Eerst zien dan geloven.. Worden wel meer verhalen verteld in de Engelse pers die een waarheidsgehalte van 0.00 hebben.. Maar het was toch in Londen? Hoe komt die dude dan bij Newcastle? Hoop dat het Arsenal was

Niet dat Ruud the zo'n symphatieke jongen is altijd maar hij heeft bij mij in Oranje wel punten gescoord door inzet te tonen..
