Who was I talking to the other day
I thought I knew
But now I’m not so sure no more
It almost seemed like talking to a wall
Not a wall of bricks
Not even a wall of ice
It was deeper inside

Like a wall of indifference
Like someone spoke for you
Forgotten all we’ve been through
Forgotten all we’ve shared
Forgotten all we’ve done together
That makes me kind of scared

If you had a problem
You should have told me so
I’ve asked you so many times
But you denied it all the times
What is it I need to know
Is there something wrong with you
Is there something wrong with me
I thought we understood each other
But I guess I was wrong again

You’re like Hotel California
Once you get in, you can’t get out
Jet you push me away
When you don’t want me to leave
You ask me to stay
But this way I can’t do that
I have a little self respect left
Enough to tell you no

The tides will turn from now
I’ll be the one in demand
You’re game is not the one I’ll play
Even if you would ask real nice

You’d have to kill me first
I make my own decisions
Don’t need you to make them for me no more
My mind is stronger now

I don’t want to be mad at you

Ik hing laatst aan de telefoon met een goede vriend van me en ik kreeg echt het gevoel dat ik tegen een muur aan stond te praten terwijl ik heel geinteresseerd vroeg hoe alles ging op Lowlands terwijl ik nog niet eens wist dat ie daar al zat (dacht dat ie vandaag zou gaan). Later krijg ik te horen dat ie liever ff niks van me hoort, en dat ie me maandag wel spreekt. Vandaar heb ik toen deze geschreven.

Luisterde ernaar toen ik het schreef, vond het wel toepasselijk omdat die gast gewoon eigenlijk als Hotel California gezien kan worden...
