Engels boekverslag 5 VWO

Ik heb net mijn boekverslag van Engels afgemaakt over het boek Gabriel's Gift. Kan iemand die goed is in Engels ff op spel/grammaticafouten kijken.

This book is about the boy Gabriel’ Gift whose parents broke up when he was 15 years old. Rex (his father) is living in a cheap room and Gabriel is living with his mother, who is working as an waitress, and Hannah, an au-pair. Rex is an musician who had success when he was younger. He played in a band together with Lester Jones and Lester Jones is still famous. Nowadays Rex isn’t a member of the band anymore, but he still meets Lester Jones. Lester helps him to get a job, so that he can pay his rent. Gabriel had an brother called Archie but he died as an baby. Gabriel thinks he can still hear Archie and Archie gives him advice when Gabriel has a bad time.
I think this is a bit of a strange book. It makes you think about the problems children can have in the suburbs of London and the problems a child gets when his parents are divorced. The divorce of his parents is not the only problem of Gabriel. His mother wants him to be a lawyer but Gabriel wants to be a drawer. I think this is a problem that occurs in many families and that might be recognizable for some readers of this book. In the beginning of the book you don’t know Gabriel well, he doesn’t show his feelings to you. But later on you understand him better and you learn to know Archie for example. Another problem for Gabriel is that his mother wants to move to Italia, but Gabriel wants to stay in England with his father.
So I think is a good book to read, it’s not to serious and not to hard to read. Hanif Kureishi (the writer) doesn’t use to hard words so it’s easy to understand this Gabriel’s Gift.

Mijn engels is weliswaar niet heel erg goed, maar ik kan natuurlijk altijd een poging wagen, ook nog goed voor mn eigen engels, jaja, alles is uiteindelijk eigenbelang...

volgens mij is het lidwoord in het engels a als het volgende woorde met een medeklinker begint en an als het met een klinker begint.
together bij together with is volgens mij overbodig, with betekent al samen met
In plaats van Lester Jones and Lester Jones is... zou ik zeggen Lester Jones, who is...
so that he moet volgens mij zijn so he (zonder dat dus)
Bij but later on is on volgens mij overbodig
to met een o staat bij een invinitief van een werkwoord, dus to be, to hear enz, too met twee o's betkent té, to hard words moet dus too hard words zijn, in plaats van hard zou ik hoer difficult gebruiken
learn to know is volgens mij niet de goede vertalinf van leren kennen, ik denk dat je beter kunt zeggen get to know
Ik hoop dat je hier iets aan hebt. Succes er mee

Ik heb trouwens wel veel fouten met an gemaakt, ik wist die regel eigenlijk helemaal niet van an na een klinker.

Ik zou er niet van uit gaan dat mijn engels heel erg goed is, hoor, meestal kom ik niet hoger uit dan een 7, en dan is het nog uitmuntend goed voor mijn doen, ik weet trouwens niet zeker wat nou ook al weer klinkers zijn en wat medeklinkers a e u enz zijn toch klinkers? dan had ik het toch goed (jaja, ik weet het, mijn Nederlands is ook al niet perfect...)

Dat lijkt me onmogelijk, dat a een medeklinker is en bcdf ook, ik neem aan dat de a er niet bij hoort
