Na zijn opleiding in Europa keert Daam terug naar Senegal waar hij zich in de politiek op weet te werken tot minister. Als zijn huwelijk met Gagnesiri kinderloos blijft, neemt Daam er een tweede vrouw bij. Dat moet dan zoiets worden:

Après son education en Europe, Daam retourne en Senegal et il réussis de devenir ministre. Si son marriage avec Gagnesiri reste sans des enfants Daam prends une seconde fille. Cette fille est-ce que lui donne un fils et une fille, mais le pris qu'il doit payer pour les enfants est plus haut qu'il a expecté.

Mina en Ethel zijn al vanaf kleins af aan beste vriendinnen. Je ziet ze in de film opgroeien. Ze delen lief en leed. Na hun pubertijd krijgen ze veel aandacht van mannen.
Mina schrijft zich op een gegeven moment in voor een kunstklas en wordt kunstenares. Ze wordt verliefd op een man maar deze trouwt uiteindelijk met Ethel. Mina krijgt daarna ook nog een auto-ongeluk en raakt verminkt.
Ethel en zij verbreken voor lange tijd het contact maar als ze dan uiteindelijk weer wel contact opnemen heeft Ethel geen tijd voor Mina, ze heeft het te druk voor haar ooit beste vriendin.
Dit is voor Mina de druppel en ze ziet het niet meer zitten. Ze pleegt zelfmoord.
