Dear Johnny,


Thanks for the letter you sent me last week. I also think it is very sad for some supporters that they may not visit the exciting final here in Amsterdam. But there is an explanation for the lack of space at Schiphol.

In the Netherlands there is a law which forbids airplanes to produce more than 1600 dB. When airplanes produce more than 1600 dB, we talk about noice nuisance.
So when you get more airplanes at the airport, the sound level will rise.
And then you across the limit.

It is also a fact that Schiphol develops very fast. Much more than we all expected at the beginning. I think it is good for our infrastructure that we expand the airport. I believe it is a good idea to build branches in Flevoland.

This is the best option I believe because we have got plenty of space there. So we can start right away with building some branches there. Somewhere else you first have to pull down some houses, trees ect. And because there is a lot of space, and because not many people live in that area, we do not have problems with the noice nuisance. Therefore I think it is a good idea to start with building some branches in Flevoland.

So mate, when you visit Holland in a few months, look out for the airplanes because then we will have plenty of them. I hoop to see you soon!

Ik heb ook wat dingen veranderd waarvan ik niet zeker weet of ze fout zijn, maar die ik wel gek vond klinken.
Over het algemeen een goede brief (y) probeer niet te veel korte zinnen na elkaar te gebruiken en geen nieuwe zinnen te beginnen met 'but', 'and' of 'or'.

Deze zin kan je beter zo doen: I also think it is very sad that some supporters may not ............

dat "for some supporters that they...." klinkt een beetje krom...maar het is niet fout!

Sarah schreef als foutverbetering dit: "the sound level will rise and it will be above the limit."

Het is beter om dat "and it will be above the limit" gewoon zo neer te zetten: "the sound level will rise above the limit" wederom geen fout, maar wel iets beter.

"I hoop to see you soon!" is natuurlijk "I HOPE to see you soon" :)


Ik denk trouwens wel dat ik rijkelijk laat ben met het verbeteren van je brief, maarja ben nieuw op dit forum zit er pas een paar dagen dus kon niet eerder ;) hoop dat het nog niet te laat is (al denk ik stiekem van wel........)

het is 'noise' en niet 'noice'
