Rose
You buy me a rose
I watch it bloom So new and beautiful Slowly the petals fall back Exposing within Timidly Yet still opening itself to the world around it I watch as the enviroment freezes And frost captures the rose In it's moment of perfection Holding it for a moment Then the sun burns away the whiteness on it's petals Leaving them wilted and limp I watch as they droop down No longer caring to protect within Too tired to try to live any longer I watch as they quickly brown And then they color fades completely I watch the petals crumble under the pressures in the air I watch the rose quit I see the exact moment it gives in The first petal falls Almost saddly the air floats it down Lightly To try to protect it still It crumbles as it hits my desk I watch as another petal falls And my beautiful rose dies Crumbles completely I shed a tear for the moment For the forgotten finality of it's existance Then I sweep up the crumbly dust And throw it away I forgot it Until one day went by And then another Weeks pass Still you never returned to me I remembered the exact moment when the rose had given up I will always remember mine The moment when my first time of trust falls Exposing myself to the pain The reality that you will be gone Forever from me I shed one tear while I still can And then fall apart. I wonder as my last thought If someone will kindly throw me away as well....... |
