[Engels] Foutjes in mijn tekst?
 

Hallo, hier ben ik weer. Ik wil niet vervelend doen, maar zien jullie ook in mijn Engelse tekstje foutjes staan? Want Engels is niet mijn beste vak en ik kan me niet zo goed uitdrukken in die taal. Danku.

This school year will be a good one. There’s no doubt about it. But let us hope that we don’t get too much homework. I like to learn interesting things, but the lessons may not be too boring. I hope there will be a plenty of opportunity to explore new things in the lessons. Hopefully, there will be a great atmosphere in our class. I will make a lot of fun this year. I hope so to keep up with everybody in the classroom and to get good marks, but I’ll have to work for it.

Van de bovenstaande drie verbeteringen zijn de eerste twee fout en de laatste twijfelachtig.
Dit is juist:

1. This schoolyear will be a good one. There is no doubt about that. But let us hope that we don’t get too much homework. I like learning interesting things, but the lessons may perhaps be a bit boring. I hope there will be plenty of opportunities to explore new things during class. Hopefully, there will be a great atmosphere in our class, so I will have lots of fun this year. I so hope I will be able to keep up with my classmates and get good marks. But it won't come easily: I’ll have to work for it.

De betekenis van de zin verandert hier.
(1) De lessen kunnen misschien een beetje saai zijn.
(2) De lessen kunnen/mogen niet té saai zijn.

Ik denk dat optie (1) inderdaad bedoeld wordt.

Lots of is spreektaal. Ook zou ik in de laatste zin een koppelteken gebruiken in plaats van de dubbele punt, maar of dat formeel correct is weet ik niet zeker.

I so hope --> I also hope

nee, want ze bedoelt dat ze heel erg hoopt. als in: "ik hoop zo dat.."

enne, moet "lots of" dan misschien "loads of" zijn?

Nee nee, "loads of" is nog veel erger. Gewoon "much".

Of [b]a lot of[/b[...

Dan is het I really hope, in plaats van I so hope.

Beide zijn correct, maar ik heb voor de laatste gekozen omdat ik het gewoon beter vind klinken.

Dat zou ik dus juist niet doen, vind sowieso really hope beter klinken, andere klinkt wat Nederlands, maar zou vooral really hope kiezen omdat in de zin er voor al so staat.

Maar als ze beide ok zijn, dan kan so hope natuurlijk ook.
