You weren’t exactly the nice type, but that was why I liked you

I was addicted to you, it’s kinda hard to explain
It’s like sometimes I needed to see you so much, I may could go insane

You told me about your plans, you told you would go someday

Volgens mij moet dat laatste dan ook in de verleden tijd:

Sometimes you drove me crazy, with the way you talked and acted (maar dan klinkt het minder mooi)

acted is bovendien passender, als je 'do' gebruikt hoort er nog wat bij, zoals wát iemand dan doet. Je gebruikt het woord doen niet zoals in het Nederlands.

When you said

I was addicted to you, it’s kinda hard to explain
It’s like sometimes I needed to see you so much, I may could go insane

kinda staat minder netjes dan: kind of.
I may could is dubbelop. I could have gone insain kan wel.

Mooi trouwens, die laatste strofe! Ik zou bij sommige stukjes nog wel even letten op je 'ritme'. Als je het stuk hardop leest hoor je welke stukjes nog anders moeten, omdat je het niet 'netjes' kunt oplezen.

Bijvoorbeeld:

Sometimes you drove me crazy, with the way you talk and do
You weren’t exactly the nice type, but that was why I liked you

Als je dit leest, is de tweede zin eigenlijk te lang.
