Carlo Steegen (Audiobot) and Dennis Tyfus (Ultra Eczema), two underground aficionados from Antwerp are back to do some dotting of the i's and crossing of the t's. A fine selection of sounds and images carefully selected for your pleasure (or else) for what promises to be a more than momentous mini-festival. Highlights: the analogue and audio-visual synth project 'Demons' by Nate Young (WOLF EYES) & Aaron Dilloway (ex- WOLF EYES) and, on the complete other extreme side of the musical spectrum, the colorful Dragibus, catapulting us back to the years of our childhood.

Analogue and audiovisual synthproject of Nate Young (Wolf Eyes), Steve Kenney en Alivia Zivich.

AARON DILLOWAY
Former member of noise rock bands Wolf Eyes, Isis & Werewolves, and Pterodactyls. Runs the noise record label Hanson Records in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dilloway's solowork can be tagged as somewhat old school, characterized by piercing feedback and distortion, with an ear for dynamics, but sans a penchant for overwrought aural dramatics.

DRAGIBUS
Dragibus is an super happy electro-pop trip that mixes 60's and 80's pop culture, twisted children pop songs, cartoon music and traditional songs from all over the world with a little bit of joyfull experimentations.

FAMILY BATTLE SNAKE / BIRDS OF DELAY / PULSE EMITTER
3 way collaboration, striving for that late night monster psych jive... with the words of Family Battle Snake... Heavy improvisations, dipped in a hazy psychedelic mayhem, from lulling numbness to fierce noise outbreaks.

DJ'S STROHEIM & PANIEKZAAIER
Stroheim = Antwerpian underwater force specialized in hydro-electronic substances, smoke machine filled lungs and hyper dark electro. Paniekzaaier = hits it from the back with slices of codeine dipped blunts and chopped & screwed hitz.

Burroughs narrated 1922 docu-history of witchcraft and bona-fidely avant-garde masterpieces. Author, teacher and B-film archaeologist, Mr Jack Stevenson will introduce the films and surely join us afterwards in celebrating a premature Halloween soundtracked by appearances from the pastel coloured Japanese chipmunk loving duo KIIIIIII and "tasty as a little sausage" Le Club des Chats.

Bij Scorch Trio zijn ze het bijvoegelijk naamwoord 'super' vergeten. 'Scorch' betekent verschroeien, verzengen, en verdomme, dit drietal klinkt net zo verkwikkend als een bombardement op Rotterdam. De orgiastische free jazz van dit trio refereert op een niet oubollige manier aan avant-jazz virtuozen als Nels Cline, Sonny Sharrock en rock georiënteerde bands als Mahavishnu Orchestra en Cream. De band heeft twee briljante albums uit op Rune Grammofon, hofleverancier van Noorse cutting edge muziek.

Als toegift na Scorch trio hebben wij de film Bleu Shut van Robert Nelson. Relaxed, radicaal geïmproviseerd en vindingrijk, een film die die (vrije) geest oproept van de Amerikaanse films uit de jaren 60 en 70 om ons liefdesbrieven te sturen over de alomtegenwoordige absurditeit van het moderne leven.

Het concert begint eerst, omstreeks 21:30 u.

Scorch trio came about as a result of Raoul Björkenheim and Ingebrigt Håker Flaten´s meeting at the Jyvaskyla Summer Jazz Festival in 1998. Their first recording for Rune Grammofon in 2002 was voted one of the 10 best jazz CD's of the year in The Wire. A second album was recorded in the winter of 2004 and released on Rune Grammofon during the fall same year. Björkenheim gained recognition on the international scene with his own band Krakatau, recording two CD´s for ECM, and performing at many major European festivals. His playing reflects the influences of Hendrix, James Blood Ulmer and Ayler, bringing him to collaborations with Finnish drummer Edward Vesala, Toshinori Kondo, Bill Laswell, Ronald Shannon Jackson and Paul Schútze. In addition to Scorch Trio Håker Flaten is a regular member of The Thing (with Mats Gustafsson), Atomic, Close Erase (with Christian Wallumrød), School Days and Petter Wettre Trio. He has also toured with Trygve Seim, Joe McPhee, Chris Potter, Iain Ballamy, Dave Liebman, Tony Oxley, Frode Gjerstad and SPUNK. Paal Nilsen-Love is one of the most profiled players on the Norwegian jazz scene. In addition to Scorch Trio he is a regular member of The Thing, School Days, Frode Gjerstad Trio, Atomic and Håkon Kornstad Trio. He has recorded and performed with a number of musicians, from Pat Metheny and Django Bates to Svein Finnerud and Nils Petter Molvær.

Twee bands uit Baltimore, Maryland om voor op een maandagavond uit je schulp te kruipen. Arbouretum, de band rondom zanger/gitarist Dave Heumann (speelt ook met Bonnie 'prince' Billy / Will Oldham) laat gracieuze roots/altrock horen die overal enthousiast onthaald wordt. De zeer aangenaam slaperige sound van het duo Beach House (Victoria Legrand en Alex Scally) mag er ook zijn, en zit qua stijl ergens tussen Suicide, Nico, Bongwater en folk/electronica in het algemeen.

DIRTY PROJECTORS
Als curator nodigde David Bowie hen uit voor zijn High Line festival. Dirty Projectors is een fenomeen. Een delicate sound die nauwelijks te omschrijven valt, met liedjes die op het eerste gehoor niet schijnen te kloppen maar enorm boeien. Onder leiding van zanger/gitarist en mastermind Dave Longstreth zal deze band in Worm ongetwijfeld zieltjes gaan winnen. Vette aanrader!

Onlangs werd Firetime aan deze avond toegevoegd, een incestueus maar welklinkend clubje rotterdamse musici met in de gelederen o.a. Nanko, Fonckeltoff en Martin Ruiten (Harry Merry and The Must). Progressieve muziek met veel potentieel.

De Japanse cult feak-out band Acid Mothers Temple is voor het eerst in Nederland! In haar 12 jarig bestaan is de band uitgegroeid tot een lost-vast psychedelica / krautrock monster dat in Rotterdam aantreedt met de vaste kern van vier.
