Dear Mr Shamfeik,

With reference to your advertisement in the newspaper of last Saturday I would like to apply for the post of female guide.

My name is Petra Janssen. I am a seventeen year old female from the Netherlands.
Currently I am in the fifth form of grammar school. I speak English almost fluently and I speak French and German as well. I have had five years of French language and 4 years of German language in grammar school. In my free time I like to play sports and I like to read, too. I love to spend my holidays in a foreign country.
I think I am suitable for this job because I know English very well and I would very much enjoy it to show visitors round the castle and grounds of Bellinghurst.

I have worked with tourists before. I had to show them round my village and I tell them a lot about its history.
I hold the view that a guide, first of all, should know very much about the place he or she is showing its visitors round.
Secondly, I am of the opinion that a guide should be friendly to the visitors of the castle, at all time.

Could you please send me some information about the castle and its grounds? I am very interested in the castle and the grounds so I would like to read more about them. Moreover I could prepare for the job, in case you would see me as a successful candidate for this post.

I would like to know in what period the guides will have to work and the work hours will be.
I am available for the job from 4 July until 28 August.
Could you please send me information concerning accommodation, salary and other benefits?
