After numerous Ep’s (compiled earlier in the year on CD for the vinyl challenged), these Jersey youngsters get there due with a proper full length on Max Wards’ 625 imprint (the sign of quality thrash!), and they make no bones about where their influences lay. No Hatebreed chugga breakdowns or math-rock diddling here; this is straight up Life’s Halt thrash revival to the letter. Ripping, kicking speed and full throttle riffs from the bandana days, albeit with hints of the new breed (the sadly departed D.S.13, fellow Jersey-ites Tear It Up). I believe the Tear It Up skins man has been pulling double duty on their recent string of shows, which has gotta fuckin’ hurt. There are melodies amidst the clatter, but Down In Flames cover their tracks pretty well with a bit of self-induced slop and loose riffage. It all makes for a pretty “rad” listen, if not a bit overwhelming on the first take. But when was the last time you saw a thrash opera or 73 minute grandiose concept record that wasn’t an 80-song discography...Down In Flames keep it short and to the point, and the occasional break (more like a stop/start) signals the passing of another cut for those too slow to follow along.
18 tracks with little variation from their past offerings, but still a powerhouse of breakneck hardcore without all the meathead posturing. The live show tacked on to the CD exhibits a band ripe for the frenzied and chronic speed freak. Definitely an energetic show. With all the top-notch bands kicking it old style these days, I hope these guys don’t get lost in the crowd, cause they are still coming together, and already fierce as fuck. If thrash is your thing, these guys will warm you right up without bringing you down. Whiplash! ik kan er alleen geen muziek van vinden...iemand die me daarbij kan helpen?

Ik heb de 7"(op ons eigen coalition records). De split met Tear It Up en de lp op(625 Thrashcore).
Niet zo goed als "broertje" Tear It Up, maar zeker de moeite waard als je van snelle hc houd.

Dat is zeker waar. Tear it up heeft gewoon meer een eigen smoel. Meer Black Flag invloeden.
De Nothing to Nothing lp is de beste hardcore lp van de afgelopen jaren wat mij betreft. Zonde dat beide bands genokt zijn( Geld ook voor Cut The Shit). Gelukkig CTS en Tear It Up veel gezien

Van de eerste 7": Knowitall Van de 2e 7" getiteld Riot: DNYR Van de nieuwe lp: The Deathtoll Knowitall. Knowitall....you're a fuckin knowitall. Megacoole band die de sfeer van oude hardcore(begin 80) goed weet te vatten. Ex Shark Attack ook overigens.
